Go when you have time to take it all in; the grounds, the secret alcoves, the waterfront, the banyan trees and fountains and of course the interior.
Enjoyed lunch and a gelato from onsite food trucks which I believe are a regular feature.
You can also kayak over to view the estate from the water - but no docking to tour the property.

great change of pace from the beach.

Beautiful old property transformed to museum. Filled with Rococo and Renaissance European pieces of art which were collected by the owner and located in amazing garden.

The house and gardens are lovely. Right now you can’t visit the second floor, which is kind of a bummer considering the first floor doesn’t show you much. The gardens are beautiful and worth it. There is a lot of restoration going on, so almost everywhere you look there is construction or renovations. Obviously it needs to be done but kind of a lot now and it kind of ruins the magic of the place.

Had an amazing time visiting this local attraction. Took me an hour and half to cover the entire grounds and the garden. Beautiful home and even more impressive gardens with sculptures all over. Totally worth the time and effort. Magnificent views all around. Mask wearing is mandatory all the time. Tickets to be bought online only and scanned at the entrance at this time.

This was a great way to spend half a day in Miami. I'd definitely recommend getting a tour. They're 45 minutes. It was fun to walk around and see the opulence and history, a lovely, beautiful walk.
