We used the Pelican Cafe for both our corporate holiday party as well and got reservations for New Year's as well. In spite of the pressure of the holidays, the staff was "on" and the food was ridiculously good! My favorite was the Fois Gras which was unbelievable. Chef Mark Frangione really outdid himself on this dish. Well priced, but flavor, texture, temperature, and accompaniments were perfect. Veal Chop was tender and cooked to perfection. Other reports from my guests were that Shrimp Fettuccine was outstanding, locally caught Pompano was tasty and tender, and pasta dishes with "Mom Frangione's Sunday Gravy" were excellent. I recommend the Pelican Cafe over many of the other wannabe's. Oh, did I mention the entertainment on New Year's? Dawn Marie who is now a regular and fav or President Elect Trump at Mar-A-Lago with her partner, Giovanni were fantastic. Fireworks that woke up all of the neighborhood at midnight were incredible. Thank you, Mark and Karen Frangione!

The Pelican Cafe is an absolute "must" on our list of favorite restaurant to stop in on during our Florida vacations.

We have been patronizing the Pelican Cafe since it's opening years ago. We were in the area vacationing for the holiday week and couldn't have chosen a better place to be on New Years Eve.

We could always count on a warm greeting from the owner, Mark and/or the friendly staff. The restaurant was busy and the service staff was bustling about but managed to get our delicious meals and cocktails out timely, which was a pleasant surprise since New Years Eve is a challenging night for any restaurant establishment.

The evening was fun-filled and we can't wait to get back to the Pelican Cafe when we return to Florida in March!

After having enjoyed the Pelican during the past year we decided to celebrate our New Years eve there. Although it seemed to be a comfortable packed house, the owner, Mark and his attentive staff, made everyone feel like family. While Mark was greeting his customers, his staff was taking care of their every need. As usual our food, from the appetizers, entrees and dessert were excellent and delivered timely. One of the people in our party asked Mark about a particular appetizer. Mark had our waiter bring out a portion at no extra charge. We stayed well after midnight and brought the new year in with family. I recommend the Pelican Cafe very highly to all that want excellent food, service and a family atmosphere. Happy New Year Mark and Karen. See you soon.

In the last two years we have eaten at The Pelican Cafe several times. Each time it has been not as good as the time before. New Year's Eve was the last straw. We know that New Year's Eve is a difficult night with restaurants crowding tables together and service not being perfect. We expected the crowd but not the really poorly prepared food. My husband ordered lobster bisque and veal medallions-one of the specials. The soup arrived barely warm and needed to be sent back. I ordered foie gras and the shrimp special. When I tasted the foie gras, I felt it was poorly flavored. The owner/chef came out and told me that it was the best brand he could buy. Surely a high quality restaurant should prepare its own. He replaced it with a chopped salad. I have had that salad several times and it is usually very good. Last's night's was not--hard pieces of carrot and celery mixed with greens, almost no dressing or flavor. He asked if I wanted fresh pepper but never returned with it. My shrimp and pasta had an 1/8" of oil floating on top--not very appetizing. The chef/owner was dressed in a tuxedo and running around hugging his customers. We would have been better served if he had stayed in the kitchen and supervised the dinners being prepared! We won't be back.

Yes New Year's Eve is a celebration night and we do hug our customers - on that note you are correct. We stand by our food quality and service and understand that you can't make everyone happy all the time...despite repeated efforts to please you on New Year's Eve. Best wishes to you in your future dining ventures and god bless the restaurants you choose to dine in. Mark & Karen

This is a hidden gem. It is known well by the locals, but a little off the beaten path. Mark and his staff provide excellent service , food and occasionally music. Every time we come, everyone leaves happy. The food is outstanding!!
