We lucked into a cancellation and were able to get a room here last minute. The location is great--close enough to walk to the 'big' attractions within 10-15 min. and yet tucked away enough to be away from constant noise. We were so glad to be in Old Town vs further out by most of the chains. The pool was heated to a great temperature for winter air temps. The evening happy hour was an unexpected treat. Traveled with 2 kids, 1 used a blow up air mattress they had on-site and the other used the fold out sofa that had a surprisingly comfortable blow up mattress (I was dubious, having never heard of a blow-up, fold-out air mattress for a sofa), but it was super comfy--way better than fold out sofas at most places. The free Key West bus is out the front door and to the right, 1 minute away. We saw 2 other kids during the 3 days we stayed. Definitely more of an adult place, but welcoming of kids. Also talked with people who were repeat customers.

The Eden House has the nicest, most helpful staff I've ever encountered! The pool/hot tub area was beautiful and served as the social center. Our room was quite small, as described on their website, but quite adequate and with a comfortable bed. Any little quirks were dealt with happily and immediately. This is an old building in Old Town and has all the charm and atmosphere we were hoping for. Location was perfect - away from the crowds and noise but right in the middle of the best historic district and right around the corner from a free bus stop. Thank you Eden House!

We have just returned from our fifth (or is our sixth?) stay at The Eden House. It's still our choice for a home-away-from-home in Key West. We have standardized on the apartment units as our preferred accommodations, and we were able to occupy the same unit (302) we enjoyed during our last visit. We enjoyed it just as much this time. In every review I have posted I mention that accommodations at the Eden House range from very small -- I think I called them broom closets with comfortable beds -- to the spacious apartment and loft deluxe units we now book. Every room category is well-described on the web site, so read carefully and assess your lodging needs realistically. From the Eden House a person of average fitness can walk just about everywhere worth going in Key West. (I had heart surgery in December and was running all around the island for three days in March.) If you find a parking space on arrival you can occupy it and not drive anywhere until you check out. If your primary objective is R & R you can accomplish this around the pool and whirlpool courtyard, and the new tiki bar right on property. The Eden House staff is friendly and accommodating. In a reply to my last review Mike Eden said he hoped we would meet up sometime during my next visit. I still have met Mike only once, but I understand I missed him at the tiki bar by just a few minutes. Maybe next time, Mike. Meanwhile, thanks for keeping the Eden House the quintessential Key West destination we and all your other regulars have come to love.

Room Tip: Choose an apartment or loft deluxe unit, if budget permits.

It's a wonderful little place. You can walk or ride a bike everywhere. But you have to be very quite.Jeff was the best front deck person. He walkwd us around the property and told us a little bit aboit the history. Where to go to eat and walk around to go and see how beautiful Key West is.

Though we booked a very small room we still enjoyed our stay. We felt the rates were fair and really enjoyed the pool, hot tub, hammocks, bike rental, and homey feel of the place. Staff was friendly. And it's located close to excellent food and coffee in a quiet older part of town with an easy walk to most everything. Highly recommended overall.
