We live locally in the area and have been curious about the Fenway for sometime (other friends and neighbors have been as well). I assume this might be the result of their aggressive marketing. We did a mini-staycation here over Memorial Day weekend.
Bottom line: it’s an extremely clean, centrally-located property (to Main St Dunedin & Honeymoon/Caledesi Island), and the rooftop view is indeed very cool, but we probably won’t be back.
There’s one restaurant located at this property, and it serves as the only food venue for the upstairs bar and room service. We were informed that meant food service stops all together at 9:00; but, in actuality that means food service stops at 8:30 on the rooftop and they won’t seat you at 8:45 at the actual restaurant downstairs.
Marriott Elite members: manage your expectations accordingly, as there are no elite benefits at this property. You cannot use suite nights, no room upgrades at check-in, no member breakfast, no late checkouts, no lounge, and no offer of welcome points for Titanium Elites. I think sometimes staff at these properties forget that elite members rest their heads between 75-100 nights in a Marriott property annually, so there’s a frame of reference to what can be expected in rewarding loyalty.
There’s absolutely nothing special or remarkable about this property, and you get better experiences (and loyalty rewards) from the Vinoy ab 25 minutes south.More
