Marriott PPE member. Awful experience at this place. Arrived for business for 4 nights on Dec 10. Systems conversion to this day still hasn’t credited my stay for one of the days. Issues -

- rude staff at check in and check out
- room wasn’t cleaned 1 of 4 days stay
- bartender - on cell - barely served
- music so loud impossible to think in lobby

Stayed nearly 70 nights this year in a Marriott and this ranked high on a bad list. 27 days later - Missing points. Room was dirty for one day due to lack of housekeeping and I commented to the desk and nothing happened. At check out I started to comment on the service and the staff member cut me off as she took a call on her cell.

Avoid. Far better choices in Coral Gables. If they treat one of their premier guests like this - just think how they treat anyone else !

1. The music from the pool played all night and was extremely loud - ask for a room away from the pool

2. The ‘suites’ seemed smaller and were darker than a 2 bed room - go with the double bed if possible (And when I say darker, I mean the only overhead light (ceiling) was in the bathroom!!)

3. There is no heat in the hotel, so if you stay during ‘cooler’ months, be sure to pack some warm pj’s

4. Don’t plan on eating breakfast at the hotel: not worth the hassle or the price.

5. Showers are nice, but water pressure was lacking

6. Bartenders are nice, tip them well :) - The bar area has a dance club theme, and the music gets louder toward the end of the night

7. Valet might seem expensive, but staff was really nice and attentive

8. Actually, the entire staff was very courteous. Except for the associate that told me they don’t have heat because it’s Miami....uhh....I still don’t like my room temperature in the 60’s, even if it is Miami.

I usually stay at the Hyatt Regency in Coral Gables, but checked out the Aloft on my last visit for a change of pace. It definitely make a pass at being young and cool, but it falls a bit short and feels like a plastic, cheaper version of a Kimpton property. There’s nothing wrong with the hotel, everything feels new and works, but there’s nothing that would excite me about going back. Also... if you are looking for the iron, it’s hiding on a shelf behind the headboard (logically).

We stayed here for one night. The room was overall nice and was clean. Very modern with a nice large TV.

We were on the top level of the hotel and room was quiet in comparison to a lot of others hotels we have stayed at.

Hotel staff at the front desk were nice.

We checked out the breakfast in the morning, however ended up not eating at the hotel. It didn’t look great and for the price they charge it didn’t seem worth it. Not a big deal for us.

The only real negative there was the valet experience. There were a group of valet attendants the night we checked in and they were really not helpful or friendly. They seemed more annoyed than anything. Two valet attendants working the morning when we checked out were much better.

If you get a good rate on this hotel (like we did) it’s worth staying there.
