Good food, mostly fried fish. Great for families with children. Have carousel that operates in the summer.

Decided I would take a trip to Hammanassett state park — to walk it —because it was a 65 degrees and sunny day out in mid Feb. —- but First I went to Lenny n Joe’s to get a whole belly clam roll and a small bowl of their delicious chowder. To eat before my walk at the beach Pics to follow it was such a great day! Delicious food and walk on the beach. Can’t ask for anything more!

We spent the morning walking the beach at Hammonasset State Park in Madison, CT; thoroughly chilled, we went down the road ( Route 1 ) a bit to Lenny and Joe's Fish Tales for lunch.
As usual, a very busy scene. We both ordered clam rolls, one whole belly and one clam strips. I also opted for a bowl of their chowder. Both were good choices and nary a crumb was left. Everyone seemed to be enjoying their overflowing plates , also. A word of caution and advice: if you come with someone, first secure a table. Leave one person to anchor your spot and then take turns from ordering from their boards posted above the ordering counter. Otherwise, you will have to wait with your trays in hand in order to find a seat. Also, prime time lunch hour is always crowded. Arrive before 11:30A or after 1:00P. When the good weather finally arrives, many buses and vans stop there, also. Do not let that deter you; it is worth the wait. A bonus: very clean restrooms. These guys are a fixture with 3 locations: Madison, Westbrook and New Haven. Enjoy ! We did !

We have eaten here before and even shared it with 2 sets of Md visitors--the servings are generous, the fish tastes fresh-the variety of preparations for fresh fish is great to try something new--the soup tastes ike someone's mama made it--I am always happy to be back there.

Lenny & Joe's has been consistently fabulous for many years. Their fried fish, scallops, shrimp and clams are without equal. They have added many items to the menu so there is always something new to try. They now have fish or shrimp tacos (two tacos, delicious sauce, and cole slaw) that are the best I've ever had. They have several GF options including broiled seafood. The lobster bisque is wonderful. Service is always fast.
Go!
