The Marketplace in Guilford is a great stop for soup, sandwiches, salads, smoothies and coffee/tea. As the title implies there is also a little market where you can pick up ready made dinners, meats, and other grocery goodies. The food is usually very good and has a homemade taste. It is vegan and vegetarian friendly. All those positives being said sometimes The Marketplace does have off days. There have been a handful of occasions where my sandwich orders have not been made to what I ordered, this has also occurred at the coffee bar. The staff is also not always friendly about mistakes and make you feel bad for it. Other staff members are very friendly and helpful! Just depends on who you get. Will definitely continue to go back!

My husband and I recently spent 2 days in the Guilford, CT area and ate breakfast twice the The Marketplace. It has prepared food to go, fresh food and meats and a deli and bakery items and coffee too! It is right across from the Green in Guilford and many people were there to eat and talk, a very nice cozy type place to gather.

Visiting family in Guilford and stopped in for lunch. Salads are awesome! I love a big salad with chicken, and this hit the spot! Worth a visit. Parking on street or in the back of building.

Once we figured out where to order breakfast we thought we were all set. But then we had to go to another line to order coffee, oh and then another line to pay. If you can get past the dysfunctional flow you may be able to enjoy your meal. Definitely the meeting place for locals! Egg sandwiches were good and latte as well.

Whether you want coffee and a baked treat, or a fresh and yummy salad, or a hot grilled sandwich, this is the place for you. It's got a very busy, fairly noisy vibe. You go up to the counter to order, pay at the cashier and then sit down to eat. This place has a wide variety of offerings to please different tastes and appetites. There were 3 fresh soup choices, 2 of which were vegetarian. The squash pear soup was delicious. The salad bar allows you to choose your own veggies, protein and garnishes- I chose the classic chicken salad as my protein and wsss very happy. Lots of sandwiches and panini on freshly baked bread. My husband enjoyed the tofu with sriracha sandwich on a baguette. Everything is super fresh and well prepared. Lots of choices for vegetarians.
