After all the hype, the food was disappointing and the combination of ingredients so so. I found the food too salty and the desserts too sweet. My fish was swimming in the salad dressing. The presentation was less than exceptional. Of course the ice cream was delicious but that was a given. The prices were exceedingly high for what we were served and in the manner it was served. We are foodies, have eaten extensively around the globe, and prepare our own cuisine nightly and when hosting guests. I think a bbq joint would have been better. On a high note, the staff was attentive.

It was difficult for us to get a reservation, so, call, them and ask if you want to be on the patio, which in our experience was much nicer, unless you want to be in a more upbeat but closer together area.
We loved the Octopus, the shaved Pork starter, the Artic Char was amazing with the flavors, the Duck was a little less flavorful than described, ( everything beautifully cooked) and the dessert was a little lacking in flavor, still good.
The service is very professional and I applaud them.

We came up from NYC to try Arethusa and it did not disappoint. The food (right down to the butter and pretzel rolls served) was incredible. The service was amazing. Our waiter was Brendan and his enthusiasm and passion for his job said it all. We had the tomato flatbread and the squash blossoms for an appetizer. The flatbread was incredible, and the squash blossoms were tasty but quite messy. For dinner we had the salmon and the scallops. WOW. The Salmon was BRIGHT and Delicious and the scallops tasted like you were eating a deconstructed Scallop Clam Chowder. YUMM. For dessert we had the vanilla bean cheesecake which aside from its beautiful presentation, had layers and layers of flavors. I can't recommend this place enough. We will be back!

We had the most incredible dining experience. The atmosphere, food and presentation was exquisite. Homemade Ice cream the best!

Wish I could of tried everything on the menu. We will definitely visit Litchfield county to dine again.

As one of the top ten in Connecticut, Arethusa al tavolo is a destination restaurant but not worth the drive. Their website proclaims their menu changes daily but on June 4th there were menu choices that should have been removed as not appropriate to the season. Smoked Pork Belly Dumplings were too sweet and so was the Roasted Mediterranean Sea Bass, with equally sweet accompaniments. Before I chose the Roasted Duck Breast Glazed with Hot Honey I asked the server whether the duck breast was thinly sliced (usually a clue to the chef's intentions), but it arrived in chunks accompanied by Spaetzle which must have been warmed up out of the freezer. Only the Zucchini Blossom Special saved the two-hour drive back and forth to this restaurant. If you must go, go with another couple, as the tables for two, except for one on the window and another adjacent to the ledge with the cookbooks, are poorly located.
