Description: Abrusci's Fire and Wine is a family-owned and operated business. The owners and general manager live locally and have been together in business for 16+ years. We recently moved from 32nd/Youngfield to 22nd/Youngfield and are proud to own our own place, designed with customer service in mind. There is seating in our main dining room including at our pizza bar as well as indoor/outdoor seating in our bar and patio. The menu is similar to our Italian menu from our former location but now we have expanded the appetizers and included a bar/patio only menu to continue after the dining room closes. Our brunch is on Saturdays and Sundays only when we open earlier, serving brunch from 9am through 4pm. We are also taking reservations for parties 5 and over, otherwise it is first come, first served with open seating in the bar. Please be considerate of our neighbors when you park. The City of Lakewood encourages neighborhood parking versus large parking lots so we are doing our best to be good neighbors ourselves.

If you don't like a gratuity automatically figured into your check, don't bother reading further. We had service that would have justified a 20% tip, so it was not an issue. We had the bruschetta, the Mama T pizza, and the Best Damn sandwich, all were excellent. Atmosphere was very good, and that day the porch was open, and though we were inside, it looked like the outdoor seating was very nice.

The food here is really tasty. There is a good variety and some unique and wonderful things on the menu. The staff is always friendly and helpful. There can sometimes be a long wait, but it's worth it.

I will start off by saying it was going from Ok to pretty good until the bill arrived and we noticed the gratuity of 20% was included! Wow! That is a new one that we have not decided on yet. We gave this review 4 out of 5 as it was only one visit.

This was our first visit to the new location. My wife and I had driven by a number of times and finally decided to try it out. Arrived Sunday later afternoon and the place was moderately full. Our place of choice to sit is the bar but it was full so we took a seat at a long table and talked about the layout and décor. It was a nice layout and the feel seemed welcoming. We also liked the look of the outdoor area (now closed) adjacent to the bar. A little on the noisy side mainly from one lady sitting next to us but you can find that anywhere.

We started off with a couple of their "tap" drinks, the Apple Pie and a Milagro Margarita, that were quite good. A point here for later was that the drink service, although pleasant, was slow at times. We each started off with the wedge salad that was very good! This was followed by a pizza we would put in the "good" category. During dinner we had a favorite Riesling but again the drink service was slow and my wife had to look at an empty glass for too long in our opinion.

So far pretty good on the food, Ok on our server but no so good on the drink service. We had decided by that time that we would come back again to try out something else on the food side until the bill came. As first noted 20% was included in the bill with no apparent options. Makes you think! We are typically pretty good on tipping but it comes along with a good overall experience and this visit did not fall into that.

If it was posted about the gratuity we did not see it and were certainly not told about it. After our visit we read about it in these reviews. We usually read these afterwards so we form our own opinion. Truthfully, we are not sure if we will go back which is too bad. You will have to decide on that part yourself.

I have had several gluten free options that include appetizers and main meals at Abrusci's and they are all delicious! At our most recent visit, Nicole was our server and was knowledgeable about the menu and attentive to what we needed during our dinner.
