The crab legs, the prime rib, and the pho were good, the rest.....not so much.
Giving them a 4 star review because where else are you going to get all you can eat crab legs for 22 bucks. That alone elevates them by 2 stars.

We only visited the Monarch because the buffet every night included prime rib, crab legs and whole lobster. Of course, you could only have 1 lobster, but everything else was all you care to eat. We played the slots long enough to qualify for the new comers free buffet. The lobster was not large, but it was good, and if you preferred, you could have a tail instead of the whole lobster. The crab legs were fixed and served well, but he prime rib was over cooked and dry. I even asked if they had any that were medium rare, and was told that they were all the same. I waited until they brought out a fresh one and when they cut it in half, saw that there was no red meat, even in the center. The buffet was very limited in other options, but the other food was good. I would have been very disappointed, had I paid the twenty something dollars for the meal. I only rated it very good, because where else can you have a prime rib and crab leg buffet with a whole lobster?

I realize this is Black Hawk, not Vegas, but even by those lowered standards this place was so-so. Yes, there were plenty of crab legs and that is a big plus. But beyond that the food is blah, the buffet is small, and there is zero ambiance. You get the uncomfortable feeling that this is just a place for people to shovel copious amounts of crab. We won't go back.

Great Food! The dinning area was clean and staff very friendly and professional. We enjoyed the Lobster and Salad bar very much. Well worth the price. Clean and plentiful selection. We give it a thumbs up!

Signed up for a player card & got in our 20 points which gave us a free buffet... as other's have said - this is NOT Vegas but not too bad. We went as soon as it opened on a Saturday night - so we did not wait long.. The staff was VERY nice & attentive.
1 free champagne & 1 lobster (whole or tail) Husband had the Prime rib (I got his Lobster) but the Prime rib was very tasty and super tender! I had a whole lobster & a tail - the whole was better but the tail was very tough. The Crab legs were awesome. I also had quite a few of the oysters on a half shell & steamed mussels... VERY tasty! Decent choices - mexican, asian & sides - Not Huge but decent. Dessert options were OK - nothing over the top.
