The place is not huge, but can accommodate a big crowd, and what interesting it's a dog friendly (I saw a few dogs around today). My selection of the beers - first was Nelson the ImPALEr - extra pale ale, light, but little bit on a bitter side (I'm still getting used to a bitterness of the ales), my second choice was a Renegade Blonde -Kolsh Style Blonde - no complains here. This place is always my first choice to take my family visiting from the East Coast, the food is usually provided by the food trucks.
We tried 5 beers here, a sampler and a glass of Spice of Life. For Whom the Bag Pipes and Spice of Life were my favorites. Of the 5, there wasn't a single beer we didn't like. The atmosphere is great and the staff very friendly and helpful. Their food truck schedule is posted on a board in the tasting room. We will be back.
Went to the Iron Fist Tasting Room in Barrio Logan. Which is just a 3 minutes from downtown. The space is industrial and has some amazing local brews on tap. The owners were very accommodating to our group. Great for families as children are allowed and huge outdoor patio seating. Great for large groups such as ours.
Great Beer. Killer atmosphere. Dog friendly and always cool food trucks. We are always happy to bring people here so they can enjoy it.
We were on our way to UFC 189 in San Diego and we decided to pull over and hit up a brewery. Let me tell you the Raisin a fist is the sweetest beer I've ever had. Simply amazing. I may even carry some of these beers at my bar. Maybe the 5 stars is due to the alcohol but all I know is I've had a great time.
It's nice to walk into a business that is owned by locals. In San Diego, to have a brewery (the craft beer capital of the world, by the way) owned by a family is something special. They make incredible beer to boot.
The most impressive thing is how different all of their beer tastes. They use different yeast strains for different beers, so that they won't resemble each other. In addition, it's so great to have a brewery that only relies on IPAs!
This is a must stop on any SD brewery tour!
