If you like interesting ice cream flavors, definitely worth a stop during a stroll in this lovely, quiet South Pas district of small restaurants and shops. I tried a cone of the Salted Dark Chocolate ice cream, and it was one of those "Oh, yeah - Flavor!!" moments. Most memorable ice cream I've had since the Earl Grey Tea ice cream at Aureole in Vegas. The young man behind the counter here wasn't the friendliest, but it's a pretty basic transaction.

I am a coffee snob, I've been living in the area for years and I come by here once in awhile to get coffee. I really like the place but they have to step up and get better coffee beans, they are not of a high quality standard. They have a prime location next to the Mission Gold Line and have plenty of foot traffic to bring in the customers, but they need to offer better coffee.

Now known as Mother Moo Creamery.
We were craving a taste of sweet after a great dinner at ARO Latin across the street. This is a no frills creamery with a dozen + interesting flavors. My wife chose the Orange Blossom ice cream. It was a little too floral for me but it was still impressive and tasted exactly like the smell of Orange Blossoms blooming. She loved it. I am more of a chocolate kind of guy and sampled the brownie swirl and eventually decided on the Salted Chocolate. Most salted chocolate ice cream tends to have large granules of salt and can be overpowering and uneven in taste. This was an exception. The salt was subtle and was even throughout. It enhanced the chocolate rather than changed it. We each wanted just one scoop which ended up being a large scoop and plenty for after dinner. The service was very friendly and feel free to sample everything they have. If in downtown South Pas, drop in for a quick scoop. You will be happy you did.

Buster's was always friendly and personable. The owners retired after 30 years and sold to people who said they wouldn't change anything. Within the first minutes of my conversation with the new barista, he put down another much loved establishment across the street. He said they sell the same coffee but were not brewing it correctly because THEY (the other place) were not trained. "We make it the right way." Problem is this is a tight family community that cherishes it's business sector. Then he pointed out a cow on the second floor. I got to the top of the stair and found a gigantic mult-colored cow hoarding the prime seating spots. The new owners don't seem to get it. They did not take the time to match esthetics of this once lovely venue and it cost much more for a cup if Joe!

Busters sold to Mother Moo Creamery, still great ice cream and I believe they will try to get other foods, but for now just coffee and ice cream.
