The atmosphere was awesome and the food was even better! My girlfriend and I went for breakfast and it was hands down the best we've had in a long time.

I'm a Sacramento native and used to go to the Tower Theater and Tower Drugs as a child. Then, hung out at Tower Records. There is the context.

Hadn't been to the café for several years, but had eaten there a few times in the past.

For our wedding anniversary in town, we decided to go to Tower Café for lunch on a beautiful Monday. The ambiance had changed, with more plantings (almost like a little jungle path, arriving) but it brought back old memories.

Carlos was our waiter. Super friendly, conversational and attentive. We had a burger and the Oaxacan tacos. Fantastic. It was chilly out on the patio, so they had a heater going. The food was outstanding. The atmosphere was casual, with lunchgoers. It was not packed, so we took our time.

Prices are reasonable. This is a place that is part of my personal history but my husband had never been there. He loved it, and he's picky. We could have stayed for hours, even though we were sitting on wood-benches. Friendly staff was taking "anniversary pictures" of us.

We will return very soon. Tower Café is one of those places that any visitor to Sacramento should go to once at least. The historical lore of that corner is worth it also (for any oldsters who remember when the original Tower Records was started in the drug store, by Russ Solomon) --- but the food and service were excellent in addition.

Not being rushed that day was the best wedding anniversary dining experience we could have had. Better than our fancier dinner the night before.

A tip, in case people sit outside --- do go inside to the restaurant and bathrooms though. Some real history there. Tower Café is "the whole package."

This is one of my favorite places to meet friends for lunch. The menu/food is very good & there is a nice selection. Delicious dessert selections. The patio is extensive with lots of shade. Casual dining.

The Tower cafe is a huge restaurant which often has a line out the door. The ambiance is very cool. There is artwork from around the world EVERYWHERE! There is almost zero empty wall or shelf space. Beautiful flowers inside and out. Lovely patio. Tower Cafe inside and out is an eye feast! The food is good, with some dishes that are great. Reasonable wine list. French toast is really delicious, but very heavy. The jerk sauce is also really delicious. I order it on the side for salads and other items on the menu. Many of the desserts are top notch...creme brulee, German chocolate cake...mmmmm! If you are in the Sacramento area, this place is a must. Also, next to the Tower Theater where you might take in a movie after dinner.

A fun place to eat whether it be breakfast, lunch or dinner you will always find something on the menu that will delight your taste buds. For over 24 years we have been eating here and the Chinese chicken salad is by all means, hands down our favorite! Service is courteous and attentive. The outside seating on the patio is wonderful and comfortable . We always enjoy our visit.
