Good place to stay when you visit the Los Angeles area and are traveling on a small budget. Rooms are nicely furnished and clean, the bathroom is sufficiently large with a nice shower. Beds are good and the noise level acceptable. Parking is provided without extra cost and wifi is fast. There are not much places to eat around the hotel, except a shabu-shabu for dinner (which I can recommend) and a Danny’s for breakfast- both in walking distance.
Awesome place! I requested them for put a deposit in cash and they approved this. Receptionist was very honest and find for me parking space,because lot was full. The room was clean;without any hairs. And come on,guys what you waiting for 90$? Hotel had renovation 1 year ago,and everything was perfect,clean and quiet. Beside ac,it’s not renovated and it is too old. I was totally enjoy this night and I think,for this money,it is a best one to stay in Pasadena area.
This place is cute in the photos, but the room was already a bit shopworn. Clerk said motel had been completely renovated 2 or 2 1/2 years ago. Clearly owners were jumping hard on the retro bandwagon. The room I had, which seems to be the one pictured (maybe all are the same) was just depressing as hell. This is mainly because of the harsh overhead lighting. The "reading light" was just as harsh and cold. Had more of a Soviet feel, but with stronger lights. There was no suitcase rack - had to put open suitcase on top of dresser. The furniture and fittings are not practical for a motel room. Also - why the hell not include a small refrigerator? The bathroom was large, with a lot of wasted space. Mattress was comfortable, but the sheets were thin and sleazy - as in carelessly made of inferior fabric. Not sure about the cleanliness of the cover. In short - the same old eastern Pasadena fleabag motel with an updated retro look. The new updated retro version of Motel 6 much better. Also - cars packed in too tightly in parking lot - very hard to get out if you are the first one out in the morning.
This remodeled motel lacked electricity during our stay (complete blackout with no air conditioning at 3:00 a.m.), caused me to slip and fall in the bathroom, and was not responsive to any of my emails or in-person complaints.
As someone who’s worked in hotels, when a general manager doesn’t even bother to return your calls after an injury on their property, it’s a huge red flag. Just imagine what else they neglect?
For your own safety, stay somewhere else.
This is easily the best motel (inn?) in Pasadena. Priced fairly and featuring sleek MCM rooms and front desk, this little place is fine by me. The room, upon entering, had a peculiar odor but it cleared up in no time after turning on the A/C. Everything was super clean, especially the bathroom, and the TV is huge and has a wide selection of channels. There is a round table with two swivel seats near the window and the A/C unit. Accompanying the well-sized closet is an ironing board and little shoe drawers. Even a small, red retro refrigerator lies in wait behind unassuming cabinets. Each room is entitled to 1 parking space and the parking lot is in great condition; the inn is about 30 minutes from LA. This was a wonderful room and experience.
Easily the best motel in Pasadena. I stayed at the Astro for a week while I was working in Burbank and I was totally impressed across the board. The rooms were clean and modern, there were new appliances including a fridge, microwave, and a really nice large HDTV that got all the major cable channels. Best of all was the customer service from the entire staff but especially from the manager Sam. He always went above and beyond to make sure my stay was a pleasant one. Couldn't recommend this hotel enough.
