This property was built in the 1930s and has had a number of celebrity guests. It really is a place for couples and most definitely a place for adults who want the resort experience, not "just a room." The pool area is spacious. The public areas are kept immaculately clean. The staff is very helpful. This property is smaller than similar resort properties I've known, but the commercial strips of Palm Springs have grown up around it and it's hemmed in. The location is ideal-steps away from the Palm Canyon strip and many restaurants, from budget to expensive. Other attractions, like the Art, Architecture and Design, and Modernism museums, are quite walkable.
A few minor caveats: The parking lot is easy to miss; look for the fountain out front. There is no elevator. The hotel is downtown, so you will hear noise, especially when the fire trucks respond to a call from the station next door, or when bikers charge up and down Indian Canyon or Palm Canyon drives. The noise isolation between rooms is very good.
All in all, a great place for romantic get-a-way.
