This place is across the street from the beach and close to restaurants and shops. Great location. We had a large jacuzzi in our room. The place was clean and affordable. We will certainly be back. Hopefully soon.

I was curious of this hotel as I have heard mixed reviews but decided to book it as I needed to decide for myself.
We booked a double bed room with ocean view and it was really a lovely location, fell in love with the area, so much so we booked an extra night!
The room was very clean and the staff were quite helpful.
Breakfast is supplied and you need to take it back to your room to eat as there is no eating area, but it is sufficient enough to get you started about your day. The hotel is not modern and has some tiredness about it but nothing you can't overlook as it has a great charm so it didn't seem to matter so much. There is a jacuzzi in the room which was great as it was a bit cold when we were there, and it is not far from the heart of SanFrancisco if you have a car. The location overrides all of it as soon as you look out to the ocean. Crossing the road to the beach for a walk up the paths is a must! Great photo opportunities!
The hotel is about as close to the ocean as you can get without moving it across the 1 . The rooms are comfortable and clean, Emily at the front desk was totally wonderful to deal with after a long day. There is ample parking and access to the streets. Not to deter from our stay, but of note, they roll up the streets in Pacifica at ten. No decent dining anywhere. The one tip I would like to pass on, is don't pay extra for an ocean view. The cars and trucks and motorcycles at night will out balance any view.
My 2 children, ages 9 and 11, and i stayed here for 3 nights. First off, all of the staff we encountered were friendly and helpful. Second, the hotel itself is in pretty good condition. We stayed in room 210 which seems to be recently remodeled ...no stair climbing required for our room, the hotel is built on a hill and there is a rear parking lot that enters on the 2nd floor. This room has no ocean view, it faces the opposite direction. It is, however, one of the closest room to the indoor pool. The room is a standard sized hotel room with 2 double beds, a small microwave and fridge, a flat screen TV on top of a dresser, and a desk with chair. There are plenty of outlets and free wifi. The 2 person jacuzzi tub is next to the bathroom by the door. We used it 2 nights, we wore our swimsuits and it was just like a hottub. It was a nice bonus after a long day on the beach. The bathroom is a good size, big enough to change in. The shower is a small one but has good water pressure. The indoor pool was great for when the winds got crazy. The one thing that I would say the owner should invest in is a new circulation fan in the pool house. The first day the condensation was so bad you couldn't see out of the windows. We propped both doors opened which helped, but I'm sure there is damage being done to the building. When you can see out of the windows, the view of the ocean is incredible. There is also a communal deck on the 3rd floor that anyone can use to see the ocean and sunsets. The breakfast is better than others I've had. They offer coffee, hot chocolate, and tea 24/7. In the mornings there is also cereal, pastries, oatmeal, breakfast sandwiches to microwave, apple and orange juice, and milk. There isn't much room to eat in the library but there are trays so you can bring food back to your room to eat. For the beach, you have a couple options. You can drive over to the parking lot where you can park free for 30 minutes, $4 for 4 hours, or $8 for all day parking. Or you can walk there. You walk down the hotel driveway which is a little steep. There is a stop light right at the corner and you simply walk a Ross and you're at the beach. There are no benches so be sure to bring a chair or towels if you want to sit and watch the waves. The restaurant on site was very good, I recommend the steak salad. There is also a shopping center a few blocks down with several restaurants, a a safeway, rite aid, starbucks, and even a goodwill just in case your kids don't pack enough clothing like mine did :) You can also drive one stop light north and you will find another beach, rocks to climb on, walking trails, a few little shops and restaurants. The parking at that beach is free.
Three floors. Rooms looking west being worked on. For a bit over $100-120 for one person. Has slow elevator. Three breakfast choices on short block. Only a short block away from a beach, ocean, walking trails. Easy drive into San Francisco.
My wife and I recently visited San Francisco California and in an effort to save money, decided to find lodging outside the city. Using several web based lodging applications we settled on Pacifica, specifically the Pacifica Beach Hotel.
The hotel is located off of highway 1 with spectacular views of the Pacific Ocean. Our room was located in the front of the hotel on the first floor. The room was spacious with all the standard amenities (microwave, refrigerator, coffee maker, etc.). The bed (queen) was relatively comfortable as were the pillows. The jetted tub next to the bed seemed out of place, but retro cool reminiscent of the 70s.
Our room didn’t have any windows but instead had two full size sliding glass doors that provided and excellent unobstructed view of the ocean. The staff was great, continental breakfast sparse, location perfect to San Francisco, Half Moon Bay, Santa Cruz, Monterey, etc. Although the hotel is dated, it definitely has charm. The price is a bit high, however if you can get a Groupon it’s worth it.
