We arrived at 2:00 and were able to check in. All of the employees were very friendly. We were able to park our car in a covered area below the building. Our room was very cheerful and had a great view of the water. We were able to walk to everything on the water except the rock.Morro Rock was a short drive but we could see it and hear the sea lions from our room.

Room Tip: Pay extra for a room with a view of the water.

Hi molly30087, Thank you for staying with us and sharing your experience with others. We're very thrilled when we see reviews noting the very friendly employees. The hotel is just a short walk away to enjoy several shops and restaurants on the waterfront. We look forward to seeing you again.

We went with some friends on a motorcycle trip. I had reserved one of the rooms with a balcony because it's worth the money to have the fresh air, the scenic view and the people watching and that's where we all ended up hanging out! It's easy walking down one block to the Embarcadero where you have so many choices - shopping, eating, entertainment, coffee and kayaking! To most people, this would not be a 5* hotel but for us, it provided exactly what we were looking for, the ambiance, close proximity to everything and it was very clean! Yes, so the rooms are a little dated, however, you're there for the beach atmosphere, we loved the nautical theme! I worry that once they renovate we won't be able to afford to return to this hotel for our anniversary next year because the price will probably increase.

Hi beachlovers4, Thank you for your five star review and title "Love the ambiance." The property is close to give guests options to choose from a variety of different vendors on the Embarcadero. We're so happy that you had a nice stay with us and we do hope to see you again.

When you arrive like we did in Morro Bay with No reservation, you need to shop around for the Best Price, and it will vary from $400 - $110 so be careful, we stayed here for one night, the only thing that stopped us staying other night was the room was dated and tired, I could have asked to be moved but it was for only 1 night, so didn't want to spoil our first night of our Road Trip. Breakfast was included and OK. If you on a budget this will tick all the boxes, but ask to see your room 1st, the lovely staff were always happy to help.

Most rooms have balcony (ask for one) & overlook scenic view but away from touristy noise. Could hear& see seals, pelicans , sea gulls. And, of course, watch the sunset. We've stayed here several times over the last 10 years. Our room had no a/c & can't remember if this was so the last time we were here. Last time was in a December so a/c wasn't needed. We left patio door ajar for nice breeze (there was lock to leave it open 3 inches or so) King Room was generous in size, friendly staff, continental breakfast incl. The ADA rooms were all taken, but the doorways were wide enough in a king room, so that wasn't an issue.

Room Tip: Ask about a/c, request balcony

Hi CarmclTrvlr, We appreciate you taking the time and sharing your experience on Tripadvisor on our property. I'm sorry but the rooms on property that have balconies don't have air conditioning and the rooms that just have the windows are equipped with air conditioning. Thank you again for your feedback and your room tip.

This place was okay. The rooms don't have AC but there was a stand fan in the room and it was bearable with the screen door open and the fan blowing air in. Luckily the nightlife is not late or loud so we didn't have to hear too much noise beyond the sea lions barking in the bay (that was pretty cool). The room itself was decent, although I didn't think it was worth the $270 (including taxes) but it was a Saturday night. We did have a sort of bay view but it was over other buildings and not much of the bay was viewable. The location of the hotel was great, within walking distance to the bay restaurants and shops.

Dave W, We appreciate your recent review on the Blue Sail Inn. I'm sorry but the rooms on property that have balconies don't have air conditioning and the rooms that just have the windows are equipped with air conditioning. We appreciate you posting a picture from the view of your room as we do have rooms on both sides of the street that offer different viewing options. Thank you for staying with us and we do hope to see you again!
