Description: George's Greek Cafe welcomes you to "a little piece of Greece in Southern California." Our family-owned business is here to provide you with high quality food, craft cocktails, and an authentic Greek dining experience. Our restaurant has remained a favorite among the locals for one reason: we never compromise on our promise to provide fresh and delicious meals in a fun and relaxed atmosphere. We continue to follow Mama Rodou's recipes, which were passed down to her from her grandmother. We use only the finest imported ingredients, such as first cold pressed extra virgin olive oil from Greece and premium, hormone-free, grass-fed lamb from New Zealand. We want to extend an open invitation to you to dine at one of our restaurants. Whether you're looking to impress a date with an intimate wine tasting, reconnecting with family over Saganaki Flaming Cheese and lamb chops, or planning the perfect wedding reception for 500 of your closest friends, we are here for you. Come in, and feel like part of the family. OPA!

Thanks Obet for the very good service and recommendations! We reserved a table since it was full the day before when we passed by. The lamb chops (speciality) were excellent. The plates are generous. The house wine was good! Everyone enjoyed the food and the evening.

A friend and i went to Georges Greek Cafe on 2nd st. Belmont Shores (Long Beach) a couple of weeks ago. We both have been to Greece, mainland and Islands many times. We had the worst service!! and the food was Terrible!! I am not one to complain about service unless it is overwhelmingly bad. Our waitress took for ever to even acknowledge us and could not answer our questions about several items on the menu. We asked if the meat used in their euros was made from slices of real unprocessed meat or the chopped up pressed meat that most greek restaurants around so. cal use. She swore it was not ground up or pressed. She was amazed i would even ask. Needless to say... when we Finally did get our food.. it was cold and looked like it was just tossed on the plate. It was as i expected it might be: you guessed it! Not even remotely like anything you would get in Greece. It was processed, chopped, pressed Lamb meat.Even if i do not like what i ordered, i rarely complain and never send it back but i did this time. We ask for drink refill 3 times before she remembers to fill out glasses back up and then no ice.. just soda and water and spilled water all over the table because she was in such a hurry. She barely ever looked at us or any other customers when taking orders. In short... It was not a good experience at all... Expensive for the crappy cold food and down right rude and slow service. We still gave a 20% tip because thats how i was raised. but i would never go back there. Terrible Greek Style food!!... Sorry to say.

Good selection of Greek food at a good location. Food itself was good accompanied by very good service. Prices are reasonable for the area , parking is limited on the street but there is a city lot on the street behind the restaurant.

A Wednesdsy night, 5:30 and the place was already busy, we felt we were in a small cafe, very homey someplace in Greece, live guitar music, great atmosphere! AChrista, our server was most helpful and a delight, helped in suggesting items, all were delicious! We went for the appetizers to share and that was ideal for three of us. The Flaming Cheese, Lambchops and the assorted appetizer plate was plentry and we tried their 3 out of 4 desserts to share....we were full! First time there and a repeat very soon.

Went on a weekday for lunch with my wife and I believe we were the first customers there. Prompt friendly service by Kenny and the food arrived fairly quickly. The lady manager was also very hospitable and friendly as she checked on us several times in a very cordial manner. The place looked rustic and cozy with many mural paintings. Outside seating is also available and it looks like they have a full bar.

For appetizer, we ordered the Kalamari ($9.95) and it was served with yogurt and tomato sauces and it was delicious. My wife had the BYOG shrimp souvlaki ($14.90) which basically consisted of 6 pieces of grilled shrimp with rice and salad. I had the BYOG lunch Filet Mignon souvlaki with fries and salad ($14.90). Both dishes came with Greek bread. I ordered my beef well done and it was cooked to order and melted in the mouth like butter. The food was good but a bit salty for our palate. Wife couldn't eat the rice because it was too salty for her. Although we left completely full, the meat portions on both dishes was very small for the price paid. Final tab including tax and tip came up to $52. Not a great value, but not a problem either as we like to do Greek for lunch once in a while.

Excellent location on 2nd with plenty of street parking if you beat the lunch time rush. Recommended for special occasions and office parties.
