I'm a local. Been here a few times usually ordering the same dish . Lately the place has been empty. My friend Martin would not join me claiming when he went the sashimi was frozen inside. Other locals friends wont go because of the cost. I usually order the Katzu curry (pork curry rice). A couple of times I was served a tiny tiny slice of pork which became irrelevant as it was too tough to eat, inedible, all for the price of $7.90. As a friend, and also sensitive to her being being Japanese, I was loathe to complain to the owner causing undue shame in front of her workers and me. But I ate the rice, curry and salad and soup with which it came. For perspective, just across the street, Ba Sah Chiruck (Pork rice) costs $1.25. People make mistakes but for these prices, it's a deal breaker, for a local and regular. The service is usually excellent, with the occasional nonsense, like the staff playing two different songs over the speakers simultaneously and the usual games played when the manager is away. I did make a personal complaint about the service and she dismissed it. Perhaps it's a language barrier? Hope this serves as a wake-up call. Sayonara Saori-san. Gambatte.Gambarru.
