I love going to Laguna Lake with children! They can fish, ride their bike, observe nature and say "Hi" to lots of four legged friends. Did I mention: make a memory and feed the ducks. Careful of the geese! Everyone is super friendly as they enjoy the lake.
I would recommend this place to go hiking and/or mountain biking. It was an easy hike. It’s great to go for a jog here.
I took my youth group and young adults group (ages 15- early twenties) for a nature walk/easy hike.
Being my first time there, I was a little overwhelmed by all the bicyclists zooming by on the path. But, once you get to the 2nd part of the trail, pass the lake and across the street, the bikes take a “hidden” side trail, which seems like a ton of fun. Also, my group also adjusted to walking on one side of the trail to allow any joggers and bicyclists by.
The parking situation was fine because I got there early enough to find a spot in one of the small parking lots.
When the second path ended, there was another path that continued that crossed another street. Some of my friends were familiar with it. My group ended splitting up and some of us headed back to the parking lot since it was a really hot day. We walked back through the neighborhood, which turned out to be a great workout since it is hilly. Then we ended up taking another path that runs along Euclid Street that took us straight to the parking lot. The others that continued on the path ended up racing each other on the trail back to parking lot. Everyone was content. It was good for my athletic friends and those who just wanted a brisk or easy walk.
Started hiking by the Equestrian Center and was inundated with historic trees, mountain bikers and water-conscious landscaped areas. Spectacular Jacaranda trees,100+year old Eucalyptus and waterfowl made my ambulatory footslog pleasant on a dirt trail.
Fishing is allowed at lake here with a permit. Restrooms have no working electricity---how efficient---and are original architecture from its 1963 opening. Recent area renovation added large boulders, wood bridges, flowing water features and photo worthy hillside landscaping.
Locals, city neighbors and visitors enjoy Laguna Lake. Sunset at the lake is romantic largely attributed to melodic flowing water sounds, little warblers chirping and songbirds singing. This is fine for a leisurely stroll or a several mile endeavor can be had at the Juanita Cooke Trail.
Have been there with grandkids fishing, walking, biking, and just relaxing. Not much grass, it is all about the lake. You can feed the ducks fish, walk, and relax.
Love the lake. It has a great view and people 🎏. Catch and release. Or 2 fish maximum. I live very close and easy walk and you meet very nice people on the walk around with is .7 miles. So three time is 2.1 miles good for your Fitbit!!!!
My dad took me here to teach me to fish in 1965 and it's still just as great to take your child to fish or walk around the lake.
