My dad took me here to teach me to fish in 1965 and it's still just as great to take your child to fish or walk around the lake.
SInce I live nearby I frequent Laguna Lake often. It is a nice small lake which they resealed a year ago to stop it from leaking. The city also cleared and cleaned all around the lake, so it makes walking around it really nice. You can fish here too or just sit and enjoy the quietness of the greenery and calmness of the lake. One of the walking/biking trails come right by here too, so if you are hiking around, it's a nice place to take a break. It has a few tables and benches around too. Nice place to chill out...
We love walking to this lake along the trails in Fullerton. There is parking available with a small grass area for picnic and to watch all the wild birds.
Fullerton, California is a decent-sized suburban town. However, when you visit Laguna Lake Park, located near the intersection of Euclid Street and Lakeview Drive in the north part of Fullerton, you would never know that you’re in a city of over 140,000 people.
If you are entering via Euclid, turn east at Lakeview, go past the equestrian center and you’ll see the parking area on the right side. A public restroom is adjacent to the parking lot. If the lot is full you can continue up the road and find parking at the opposite end of the lake.
The lake is ringed with trees that give it an idyllic feel. There are numerous benches where you can relax and enjoy your surroundings. If you want to take a stroll there is a flat, well-maintained, 0.7 mile trail surrounding the lake. There is also a spur creek just off the lake in which dog owners take their leashed canines to frolic.
There are picnic areas, but they are adjacent (rather than right next) to each side of the lake, which helps to keep the trail and lakeside area freer of debris. Fishing is allowed (it is stocked at various times of the year with trout, bass, catfish and bluegill), but you must have a valid fishing license. If you’re lucky, you may spot a turtle or crayfish in the shallow areas near the shore.
All-in-all, a visit to Laguna Lake Park is an excellent way to take a short break from the hectic pace of our daily lives.
Whenever passing thru Fullerton, I make an attempt to stop by and check out the lake. Although over the free fishing age (14), it is still a joy to walk around this compact lake and view the young fishermen test their skills. A great place to learn the basics of lake fishing while doing so in a safe environment.
This park is great. They have a nice medium size lake and it's kept pretty clean. You always see people fishing and families hanging out and of course all sorts of ducks and geese.
People keep their dogs on their leash and I've never had issues here. You'll also see bikers from time to time because some bike trails are in the park. I've never had an issue with then either.
On the west end of the park you'll find trails and also a pen where you'll see horses being trained or even competitions.
