Great fresh sandwiches. This would be an ideal place to pick up a picnic lunch! I highly recommend the Livorno sandwich.

We were wandering around downtown Davis and stumbled across Zia's. The long line almost scared us off because we didn't want to wait long, but on the other hand there's usually a reason people are willing to wait. Deciding to brave the line, we ordered a couple of sandwiches. By the way, the line moved really quickly and the wait wasn't bad at all. Neither were the sandwiches. They came exactly as ordered, the meats were tender and fresh, the bread was also moist and fresh. It was kind of funny in a way, when the gave us the sandwiches, wrapped in the traditional deli paper, they looked really small and flat and our first thoughts were for average priced sandwiches, these are really skimpy. However, when we tore open the paper, they were really generous with the meats. While they still weren't the biggest deli sandwiches I've ever had, they were certainly ample and did not leave us hungry. As a matter of fact, they were just the right amount.

Although we didn't order any sides, the salads looked very good! We did indulge in a cookie which was quite good and rounded off the lunch perfectly. Bottom line, if you want a nice sandwich in downtown Davis, stop in at Zia's. I think you'll be happy you did.

We've been going to Zia's for years. Their sandwiches are always good. Their prices are good. You can select from their suggested sandwiches or can build your own. The ingredients are top rate as is their bread. That's what differentiates their sandwiches from every other place. Wish they had more vegetarian options, and yes, their space could be larger. But Zia's is a family run restaurant, and I believe in supporting family run businesses. Their desserts are delicious and very inexpensive. Try their salads, they are also good. Just a warning: their sandwiches are so large you may have to save the salads and desserts until later.

I had a nice caprese sandwich on a soft roll and I enjoyed it a lot. I would eat there again for sure. Staff was friendly too.

This is a great deli in town. The sandwiches are large and filling. The service is excellent. It's great to have an Italian style deli in town.
