We spent one night in the resort and we loved it. The staff are lovely and friendly. Despite arriving hours early they accommodated us without a problem. They also brought us to the nearest town free of charge so that we could rent a scooter.

However the biggest thing that stood out for us was when we requested to have breakfast on the pier the next morning. The staff rearranged the setting to have just our table on the pier reserved, putting flowers on the table and an umbrella for shade... it was the perfect romantic breakfast!

We also decided to do the whale shark swimming with the resort as they offered a great price. I definitely recommend this as they charge about half the price if I remember correctly.

Our stay was short ans sweet, thank you Down South 118 Resort. If we return to Oslob we will come here :)

Room tip: Organise whale shark swimming with the resort if you plan on doing this activity!

Super clean rooms, very friendly staff, and a great view. Everyone was very friendly and always smiling. We took several excursions and they provided drivers, who were always ready and waiting at the appropriate times. Wi-if worked at bar/ restaurant area, food was okay, but I didn't expect gourmet cuisine in that area. We enjoyed our stay. Great view from second floor.

Room tip: Second floor has great view

At the first, I did not have high expectations before arriving here. but, I was pleasantly surprised. I woke up to a beautiful sight best view every morning. The room is clean.

The resort is not far from Town, it's around 5 min.

Every staff so much helpful and very attentive (staff at front, driver, night staff who take care after 22.00 pm)

but the room is no wifi and no refrigerator and no signal of globe phone

The view in front of the room is the most beautyful

...and we had a few!
Booked to stay here for a few nights to see the whale sharks etc.
The reviews all looked good and it seemed to be the best choice in that area however:
It quickly became apparent that most of the reviews are fake, there are a great number of reviews made that have the same spelling mistakes, from people whose only review is down south and reference someone called Gina who we did not see for our whole time here. Take all good reviews to be rubbish (apart from this review which is a genuine account).
The place should be described as a Motel at best. There is no proper beach to speak of, the coral reefs have been blasted by dynamite fishing (we witnessed this first hand just off shore). The equipment hire is twice the price of equipment hire in all other hotels visited in the two weeks we travelled the Philippines with very little to see. The food was very poor at the very best. It is not relaxing at all as they play incredibly loud, garish music seemingly at almost all times during the day. The WiFi is almost non existent which made sorting out travel issues that we were having out almost impossible. The curtains in the rooms are see through so anyone walking past, especially on the lower floor, has full view of you inside. The air conditioning sounded like someone was constantly drilling into a wall which made it difficult to get any sleep. They lock the gates at night so you are effectively trapped inside which isn’t that much of an issue considering there is nothing at all around being a distance into town with very few eateries to speak of.
To cap it all off when our travel arrangements finally were sorted we had to leave early to make rebooked flights. We had paid cash upfront due to their no card policy which was fine and seemed to happily refund two nights. BUT after we left we got a message from the booking website asking why we were no shows and down south we’re trying to take the full fee from our card which secured the booking as well as the cash taken. Fortunately we could provide proof we were there and our reason for early departure and it was sorted but the cheek of the staff.
I would recommend avoiding this at all costs, the only time you should ever even consider staying here is if there is no other option to get an early start for the whale sharks even then only for a maximum of one night. I would recommend staying in Moalboal and booking a day trip over this.

I honestly don't understand some of the negative reviews here, which are pretty unfair and bordering on being overly picky. Oslob is a tiny village with not many accommodation options. This lovely place is basic but was superclean, had wonderful views, and the staff went our of their way to look after us. We knew wifi was limited in rooms but it worked fine by the restaurant. and anyways, it was great to not be connected all the time and just enjoy the beautiful calm views.

Brekky was again basic but perfectly adequate for this level of boutique small hotel. What we are very grateful for is the staff woke up to get our brekky ready for 5.30am to accommodate our early departure.

We also had dinner there..the burgers are yummy and definitely try the chicken adobo! Yummy!

All in all, a great place to stay qhe doing whaleshark trip.
