We arrived at around 5pm in Oslob from Cebu City, We were having a hard time looking for any rooms available since most of the accommodations are fully booked since it was a weekend. We happened to pass by Sascha's Lodge and was quoated a price of 1400php for 3 persons. Room was really big and we enjoyed the view of the beach. The Owner of the place is very friendly and accommodating and they will do everything to make your stay as memorable as possible. They have a pool, terrace and a very good view of the sea. It's rare to find a place like this. They don't treat you as clients but as friends.

We got here late at night in a taxi from Cebu city, stumbled upon this place and got a room for the night the rate was very reasonable and the room was clean and tidy and had air conditioning. Very homely place... The owners here are what make this place amazing that and the stunning views off the back deck!! They took us in cooked us breakfast and organized an amazing day for us swimming with whale sharks exploring water falls and local sites all accompanied by a knowledgeable local guide. Upon finishing our tour which they had organized every part we found we had a few hours left until our driver arrived from Cebu city, the owner rang another driver who took us to the most amazing waterfall and it was one of the best experiences of the whole trip... In Asia it's rare to find homely cosy places to stay like This. The lodge had a fantastic pool and amazing out door area where u can sit enjoy a drink and just gaze at the gorgeous ocean I could not say enough good things about this place and the staff here simply amazing !!!! If your going to stay in oslob and want to see whale sharks these are the guys to do it with every part of our tour was amazing we didn't have to wait and we were treated like royalty driven around in a great comfortable car and straight out into the water with the Sharks no waiting no mucking around!!! Best place I've stayed in the phillipines. Looking forward to staying here again

Firstly, I must make the point that we didn't actually stay.

Jio was very kind on our first enquiry to take a booking without a payment. Having had bad experiences in the past we never pay in advance.

We had made a booking for 4/5 nights based upon the previous reviews. When we arrived the room we were offered was large with enough beds for an army and was completely soulless. However, the room was at the back and had windows facing the front and the back. We had no balcony.

The window at the back faced the very busy road with trucks and buses passing buy continually honking their horns. Here in The Philippines it's also customary for the motor cyclists to fit converted exhausts to the bikes which makes them horrendously loud....they didn't need to honk their horns!

Jio was not around but we were told that this was the only room available.

We left.

I emailed Jio to apologise but also to say how disappointed I was and he replied very apologetically.

I would have scored this with a 1 if not for Jio's very apologetic reply.

We stayed here only for one night and didn't enjoy the terrace, swimming pool or saw the sunset. But the staff was super friendly and because we were on a budget told us everything about the cheap transportation to see the whale sharks (you can use the jeepney, even at 6 am, 10P) and how to get to Apo island.
We slept in a room that used to be a kitchen which was funny but quite cozy :)
I didn't care for breakfast tough, it's a bit overpriced for that rice, sausage and egg.

Sascha's Lodge is located a few hundred meters from the town area (where the long distance bus would drop you off). A quick bike / trike ride to the lodge should only set you back php50 though I arranged with the same bike rider to take me to the whale shark viewing spot the next morning at 6am for another php150 (an extra fee to visit the waterfalls too is possible but I didn't do the falls). The lodge itself is a converted bungalow house set against the ocean in the back with a nice pool / terrace area to hang out and enjoy the views and sea breeze. There are a few lounge chairs, a few tables with chairs and a rocking chair located in this large terrace area. Cold drinks (Beer & sodas) and snacks are available at more or less the local sari-sari price. Water is available from the dispenser (both hot & cold). My room upstairs (could sleep 5) was pleasant and clean with both a fan and air con in the room. There are not many power plugs in the room so had to resort to the bathroom outlet to charge my phone. The breakfast was plentiful for php150 extra. The owner was very friendly and always willing to help with any questions you might have about the area. The Wifi was fast and there were a few people who just came by for some drinks to use the Wifi as their own hotel did not have Wifi. It is located right off the main road where you can catch the next express bus (Ceres to Cebu city).
