We went to Baum & Blume for Valentine's dinner. The venue is a combination of quirky and comfortable. There were 3 seatings; we had 7:00. Tables seating 10--12 total were set up in the gift shop, the Carriage House, which has some wonderful hand-crafted items. The four course meal started with an appetizer plate (4 delicious bites), then moved on to a spinach and goat cheese salad with a lovely honey-based dressing. We had been asked to choose the main when we made our reservations; I had a beef bourguignon-like dish; hubby had duck. Both very tasty. Dessert was creme Catalan and a biscotti. We ordered a bottle of extremely reasonably priced Cote de Rhone, which we enjoyed a lot. Planning to make it a tradition. Even better since we can walk there!

Dear Diners - Thank you for trusting us on this very special day! There's nothing we LOVE better than cooking for those who enjoy good food! We do hope you will join us again soon - perhaps for our St. Patrick's Day Feast, the annual Opening of The Biergarten, or a cozy cooking class?? And just steps away from your door! What could be better. Bon Appetit!

What a find! The restaurant gift shop has two tables seating 7 people. There are two outdoor patios. The menu changes weekly and includes a nice wine/beer list. the tables are set amongst great little gift items but in the kitchen is a very capable chef or two. We had awesome peach pie, stuffed poblano chiles, meatloaf, and the parmesan puff pastry as an appetizer. All these were just wonderful and fresh.

I came for their holiday boutique event. They had wine tasting by different wineries, live music, fresh appetizers, and a cooking demonstration by Chef Deric. It was a great time to visit, eat, and start my holiday shopping. It's a family business and they are friendly and great conversationalist.

We were in Carmel for Thanksgiving, Our research told us that Baum & Blume served Thanksgiving dinner in a pick-up/catering fashion. We made our reservation and then picked up our meals around 5pm.

Apparently, they do this each Thanksgiving. They cook anywhere from full Thanksgiving meals with large turkeys and all the sides to smaller portions (as in our case). The food was delicious and gave us the traditional meal without having to cook or sit in a restaurant. The only minor wish we had was for some cranberries (for one of us, at least - the other was glad not to have it).

The owners were very gracious and the staff was polite and very helpful. We definitely plan on dining here in the future.
