We ate on the deck one early Wednesday evening. The place is popular and crowded, noisy in the bar area. Deck was pleasant on a beautiful evening. View was OK, sheep laying in a meadow with estuary beyond in the distance, not spectacular. The food was very good and a good drinks selection. First come first served, so come early or be prepared to wait.

My sister, husband and I booked the Bunkhouse for a short stay after seeing the beautiful pictures online. The building itself is clean and comfortable but dated.
The Bunkhouse is a stand alone building with two bedrooms, sitting room and one bath. The outdoor porch looks over a fenced meadow which during the day is the home to about 40 sheep. Beyond the meadow you can see Carmel River State Beach and ocean.
It has a gas fireplace and small fridge. Furniture includes a table and chairs, sofa, ottoman and 2 comfy chairs for TV watching. The carpeted floor was not level with about 6" drop near the sofa.
My sister had the smaller front bedroom but it lacked a closet and a dresser which was inconvenient for her.
Our bedroom's large bed was soft and comfortable and had a closet and dresser.
The grounds at Mission Ranch are vast, well maintained and colorful.
We would stay again.

Staying at Mission Ranch is truly a treat. Close enough to the action in Carmel yet private and charming. The restaurant and bar are fairly small and caters to Carmel residents and tourists alike. Go for a cocktail and enjoy the sunset and beautiful working farm.

Found the rates very reasonable for the unique accommodations. The grounds are well kept and the location is wonderful. Loved the breakfast at the tennis club. Our expectations were for pastries and coffee, but we were pleasantly surprised that there were more choices than that. We will return and try the restaurant!

We have been going to The Mission Ranch since Clint reopened it during the 1980s. I think that we have stayed in every room except The Honeymoon Cottage. The rooms are always clean and comfortable...at any price level. The view from The Meadow View rooms is great. The grounds are beautiful! Watching the sheep is very relaxing. Carmel is a good town to walk. One can easily leave their car at The Mission Ranch and walk the area. Carmel River Beach is near as is The Carmel Mission. The staff is friendly and helpful.
