Though a little out of town, perfect resort location by the side of the River, cozy large sized well-fitted rooms with decent sized well equipped bathrooms, well groomed staff that provide excellent support with short response cycles, delicious food served with alacrity, manicured well laid out outdoors, good conference facility, a Spa and more than decent free Wi-Fi connectivity despite the Resort setting make it perhaps one of the best hotel in its category not only in Paro but in Bhutan. Very highly recommended for both Leisure and business visitors.

We stayed over at the Kichu resort, Paro and our stay out here was an absolutely delightful one. The rooms were spacious, clean with good amenities and we were given free Wi-fi. The food was delicious and above all the staff across all divisions be it house keeping, food and beverage and front office were extremely prompt, helpful, resourceful, polite, courteous and above all they always had a smiling and pleasing disposition. A Great place to stay.

Stayed for 2 nights during a 4 city Bhutan trip.
Located at a 5 - 7 mins drive from Paro town centre, Kichu is a very beautiful and tranquil resort to stay in. The rooms and resort in general give you a very cozy feeling. The resort is fairly old so a lot of the fittings in the room are still old style but that adds to the charm of the place. They have bed warmers and room heaters as it can get pretty cold in the winter.
Staff are extremely friendly and hospitable with a very clear "customer first" mentality.
Food menu is limited but good in taste.
Bhutan's main attraction Tiger's nest is a 15 min drive away.
Would love to come back.

We stayed at The Kichu Resort in Punakha and in Paro. Both the properties have been well maintained more from the outside than the rooms, though the one in Punakha is smaller, has a more cozy feel, is just by the side of the gurgling river and greatly makes up for all the other lacks the hotel has.

For me the food was the worst of the offerings at The Kichu Resort. The quality of the food was definitely not up to a 4 Star rating. The food was oily, too spicy, chili hot and the variety offered poor. The tea and coffee quality was the poorest, being of the instant powder variety for coffee and tea bags. Given the promise of a green country, no green tea?

In both the properties the staff were very polite prompt and accommodating. However, they tried to accommodate even when they could not and this led to disappointments. The hotel is old and aging with hardly any modern amenities. No video players in the room, internet wi-fi very poor indeed and no music system. The water heaters are old and one needs to wait for 30 minutes after one person showers for the water to heat again. They do not have any auto switch off and if one forgets to switch off after using (which can easily happen as the modern world is not sued to switching off water heaters), the result the next morning of a smokey pipe without water can be very scary indeed.

Stay here for an economical decent stay.
