OK, so it is Cracker Barrel. The Wal-Mart of chain, sit-down restaurants. You know what you're getting before you get there. Nothing gourmet or knock-your-socks-off - but good food, good service, etc.
This was not what we expected. Checked in to be seated an hour and a half before closing to be told, "Not sure how long it will be - some of our servers just got off." Wasn't too bad - seated in 20 minutes in a practically empty restaurant.
But then. One server who took our drink order twice. A second server who tried to take our drink order (not knowing about the first guy). (And, did I mention the restaurant was practically empty?). Took our food order and then disappeared for 15-20 minutes. Literally.
When the food came out, a couple of side items were missing and one person's whole meal. It happens - not a huge deal. Another 15 minutes to bring the other meal out. Got all but one of the sides. Finally got "a" side (but not the right one).
Then (my favorite part) - after this comedy of errors, my man brings the check on the heels of the last side item, leaves it, and is never heard from again. No drink refills and certainly never checked to see if we needed anything. The food was so terrible, most of us didn't finish our meal.
We paid the full price for everything and left. I'm glad this wasn't my first ever CB experience - it would definitely do it for me. Not sure how they are open.
