A very good historic hotel in a nice location with very good food and nice rooms , the only bad thing was the shower leaked water all over the floor , the restaurant is particularly nice in a nice old historic tower and the waitress was very friendly.

Modern, clean accommodation, lovely welcoming staff, great food and restaurant staffwho really work hard for you in a quiet location surrounded by beautiful Galician countryside giving easy access to the coast just over an hr away and little more than that to santiago. This Parador is small enough not to feel overwhelmed with people even though we were part of a coach party and big enough to feel that you have plenty of space to find some peace. The medieval tower has a statley lounge (sometime bar area) and 6 rooms high up or the main part is on 2 floors with views over the tower or to part of the old town. Staff thanks Manuel and ladies for excellent local knowledge they are able to help you with your plans to visit the nearby area or to make you comfortable. On the 3rd floor is a small gym.sauna and steam room available at 12 Euros per oom charge - book with reception in advance then have a drink bedor dinner the modern conservatory area or on the outside patio if the weather is kind.

Room Tip: Some rooms overlooking the medieval tower and courtyard

not quite up to expected standard.
Our room was nice and large, but next to the lift, and that wasn't the only noise.
The offer at breakfast was good, buffet with cold cuts, eggs, fruit and pastry, but replenishing on Sunday was under par.

The usual high standard and comfort in a Parador, and a very quite location in an old town. The staff were efficient, and the proximity to the Camino meant that a walk was very straightforward, especially along the river

This is a lovely parador. The medieval tower is gorgeous. Breakfast is delicious and plentiful. The restaurant at the bottom of the tower is cozy and friendly and has a nice variety of food. And the staff is unfailingly nice. The only drawback is that the church next to the property rings its bells four times an hour, 24 hours a day. It is as loud as an incoming train. Even the heavy wooden shutters on the windows could not keep out the noise. Surely the soul does not need to be called to God every fifteen minutes in the middle of the night. For most souls, once an hour would be sufficient. Maybe God would be better served if the church would let the soul sleep from midnight to 7 AM, and arise rested when the bell tolls in the morning. All I can say is that as I was writing this review, my husband was arguing that we should give the property 4 or 5 stars. Then the bell rang again, and we both said "three."

Room Tip: Get a room far away from the church!
