My wife and I needed a light lunch in Welkenraedt while waiting for a train (Approx 50 min). There was not much open and available in the town, but I had researched Trip Advisor prior to our trip and had noted this as a possible lunch stop. The cafe was quite modern and adventurous in its ambiance and was very busy, but we managed to get a table for 2, although it was rather cramped (but then we did have all our luggage with us - not ideal).
We had a very pleasant light lunch here (mushroom, onion and ham omelette with fries) cooked perfectly and very tasty, along with drinks, at a price that we felt was very reasonable,
The only downside was that because they were so busy, the service was a little slow, although pleasant enough, and unlike another reviewer I would not call it fast food, as everything was cooked fresh to order. As a result, we missed our planned train, but we were aware beforehand that the trains were hourly so it didn't really matter as we just arrived at our destination an hour later than planned - not a problem although we did have to kill a little more time in Welkenraedt!
