Just got back from a short family vacation at Sunscape. We had been to a number of all-inclusives in the past and decided to try something different.

Very impressed with Punta Cana in general. Many of the properties and infrastructure are newly developed clean and well-maintained. I'll say the same about Sunscape. The grounds are beautifully landscaped and meticulously kept. The rooms, while basic, were also clean and comfortable. The staff were mostly friendly and very helpful. The food in general was ok. Don't come here expecting more than an average culinary experience but everything was decent. The pools and beaches were beautiful and also very well kept. Property faces east so the ocean is too choppy for snorkeling.

If I had one hestiation its the pushy up-selling that goes on here. One of the things that attracts me about all inclusives is the fact that I rarely have to think about money when I'm there. Some things I expect (excusions, gift shop, premium bottle of wine). At the Sunscape, you show up and are immediately bombarded with offers to upgrade to SunClub (better pools, better bar, better drinks...). When given the tour you are told "this pool is not for you". Also, while many other AI resorts forbid tipping, here tipping is common (expected?). I have no problem with tipping but in an all-inclusive, thats something I would like to see rolled into the cost of the stay. Also, you spend alot of time waiting for tables at the restaurant as they do not take reservations.

Other than these picky issues, this was overall, a very nice vacation at a beautiful property and I would recommend Sunscape to others.

We spent 11 nights here with the first day being wasted with a two hour time share presentation. Left a bad impression with us from the beginning. They say you can't make reservations at the restaurants but in reality reservations are required at two restaurants and the other two have ridiculously long wait times. The Sun Club gets you premium alcohol only if you ask for premium. Wrist bands would be a good addition to clearly show who paid for Sun Club and who didn't. The beach, pool and staff are all good but an overall rating of three is all we can give due to the above mentioned oddities

We had a great visit to this resort. We have been to Punta Cana 11 times and would rate this in the top 50% for rooms (we had adjoining rooms with our children) - King for us and two twins and a futon for the 3 boys, but the bottom 50% for food. The individual restaurants were good but not great (Japanese Teriyaki Grill, Italian, French, and Mediterranean). The evening shows were similar to the other resorts we stayed at. The bars were staffed at about the same level as other resorts.
This resort had the best gym/cardi room that we have seen. The sand is eroding faster here than at most other locations in Punta Cana.
Overall - we had a good time at this resort ... I would actually rate it a 3.5 stars.

Just returned from a 7 day stay and we had a great time!! Personnel are very polite and very helpful. If you are either looking to just rest or to participate in activities this is a great place!! Extra special thanks to Alberto who made sure we were taken care of. Also thanks to Kudy, Luis, Spaghetti, and Jeffrey!!

My only issue would be with the upkeeping of the rooms that always seemed to get done only towards the end of the afternoon, when you want to go back to your room and freshen up before dinner. They also seemed to always be short on room towels.
