Firstly, can anyone remember the world before Tripadvisor? A lot more hit and miss right..Baha is so highly rated that we had to see and taste for ourselves. Thank you to those who Baha-ed before us!
Its a beautiful, cozy, friendly, wifi Oasis (even at our dive resort, the wifi is restricted to the reception area and its SLOOOOW) wifi at Baha is Hong Kong speed.
I can eat this forever, the Philippino 'ousso bucco' soup Bulalo is to die for, peppery consumme with tender beef shin and a big blob of marrow screams Kiwi Pinot Gris on the wine list. Order the fish, any fish..it doesn't get much better.
After a couple of meals we got to know the staff and owners Gen and Steve. They are a happy bunch and love what they do. Steve thinks he has a well developed sense of humour..
As I mentioned, we basically ate here the whole time..Friday night is open coal pit roasted whole suckling pig night...that's an event in itself!
When you step into the Philippines, there is an immediate 'low cost or spend mentality' so we were particularly glad that some of life's non-negotiable luxuries such as great gin, single Malts and good wines and Champagne are available at Baha!
The diving in Siquijor is amazing and to find the yummy foods at Baha is just a treat.
Thank you Gen, Steve and team, see you in our next trip..
