Bicol is well known for pili and gata and spicy food. I am not a fan of spicy food, my spiciness tolerance is like a 0.5 from a scale of 1-10. But when we were in bicol, everything we;ve ordered I would ask if it is spicy staff will then offer to make it less spicy. But then not spicy for bicolanos are still too spicy for me. However, when we dined in 1st Colonial, all that were served are sooo good it increases my appetite. We had the sizzling seafood and another dish I already forgot, but they are all good. We also tried the sili ice cream, so different. its a must try. THe pili shake is also not to be missed.

We spent about P300 plus per head, so it was a bit pricey vs. other to eat places in Legazpi City. But the food was good, and you know ingredients are fresh vs. the ones used in Manila. The "sili" (chili) ice cream is worth trying. The sili kicks at the end, as an after taste, so it doesn't spoil the taste of the ice cream.

1st stop in Legazpi City! Lunch at the famous 1st Colonial Grill! Ordered sinigang na baboy and fried chicken. After which is he it the sili ice cream is a must, and the level of spiciness we chose was level 2, and it was so worth it! Just have a glass of water ready cause you will be needing it. Came back again for dinner, and tried their combos this time. Had the lechon kawali
combo and my partner chose the sisig combo. Both came with your choice of iced tea or pink lemonade. The best part again was the ice cream, and tried the tostadong bigas this time. Really good too! Will comw back here again the next time I'm in Legazpi.

We ate here last night because it was recommended by the hotel staff.

It was good. The prices were indeed expensive but we wanted to try original Bicol food.

The food was good enough for us first timers.

But the best were their ice cream. It is truly unique. Tastes good. And reasonably priced.

We were excited to come here for lunch after reading some of the reviews but it was a real let down. It felt more like fast food than a proper sit down restaurant. The food was okay at best. Did not feel like authentic filipino food. Service was lacking; it may be a cultural thing but we had trouble getting our server to come over when we needed something. They made this hot pepper ice cream we wanted to try but after seeing how long it took them to just refill our water we decided against it.
