The hotel is average. You won't check out crying with tons of complaints.

However, do avoid the coffee shop. The cakes were just horribly bad. Maybe we aren't used to Asian cakes, but we wanted to simply throw up after eating them.

As soon as we entered the large receiving area, it was already a treat to see a different kind of display and hotel theme. First, there was the iconic red & green pepper hanging on the ceiling of the entrance. You can feel a Pinoy Mexican vibe with it. Then, as you approach the front desk, you are greeted with courteous staff at the spacious lobby with comfy lounge chairs. The dining areas were a surprise. It has beautiful furniture, décor, with chandeliers, as if you are in a movie set. It has numerous display as conversation pieces or selfie or groufie corners, such as a vintage car and movie camera, which gives the place a nostalgic feel, like throwback from the '20s-'30s.

The room we checked-in is spacious, with deco art design, nice chandeliers, black and white theme. The bed is soft with nice fluffy pillows that provided good sleeping experience. The room is equipped with split type airconditioning and wall mounted LCD which is just okay for comfort and convenience. The room lighting was well thought of.

The biggest downside however was the room with no view of the Mayon Volcano, which should be the first thing to consider in choosing a room. Second downside was the very slow WIFI, perhaps because we were located at the farthest end of the floor. The third downside, was the flooded bathroom, wherein we experienced a broken pipe in our sink, which inconveniently flooded the area of the lavatory. We were transferred to another room of the same size, as soon as we requested. But in hindsight, they should have given us the bigger room available on the second night because of this inconvenience. According to the front desk staff, it was not within their customer service policy, they can only transfer to same type of room customers with room problems. In addition, installing more electric outlets in big rooms will be more than appreciated. We were three in one big room, and limited outlets proved to be a challenge.

Lastly, for the ala carte breakfast, I am not that happy with their Filipino style breakfast. Better to choose the continental breakfast such as hotcake with bacon and egg.

All in all it was a good hotel. For first time travelers to Legaspi, Bicol this will be a good first hotel experience. But for a seasoned traveler, it would disappoint a bit. From what I gathered, the hotel was recently refurbished or renovated, and unfortunately there were some areas that were undermined.

Room Tip: with the view of the Mayon Volcano

Legaspi is a small city and what i normally have in mind is crappy old, smelly hotels. I was traveling on business with my colleagues and we were booked here. From the outside it looks like an old hotel, but when we got into our rooms, it was shocked. It's modern, new and clean.

Being a business traveler, electric sockets are important to us. The room has numerous electric sockets and it's all good places that we can easily reach. The bathroom is also newly modeled and i have no complains about it.

However, at 6am in the morning, there was loud music playing from the empty warehouse behind the hotel.

Breakfast is good even though there's only 4 choices to chose from.

Yeah, it looked nice I'm not sure if this was a new hotel or recently refurbished.

The lobby was spacious, with a Mexican-feel to it. A rather open area further in also had the same vibe. But the dining area that you pass by to get to that open area seemed disconnected as it had a den motif complete with antique-y decor. It could stand on its own, but the Mex vibe was lost.

The rooms were VERY spacious. Too spacious, in fact. Yet the furnishings didn't seem to take advantage of it. The cabinet door won't fully open as it would hit the door stopper.

And the room had two single beds. Not twin-size beds.

There was no hot water. Until we figured out the next day that we had to switch the valve under the sink for a hot shower. And the water in the shower area was draining too slowly!

But the straw that broke the camel's back was the poor wi-fi connection. Maybe our room was too far from the lobby area, but for a pricey hotel, why scrimp on another router? Staying at the lobby or the coffee shop was not a guarantee to be able to connect to the wi-fi, too.

An over all good hotel. It has a lot of great decors, such as antique phone, antique cars, old clocks, etc. There are also restaurant/cafe within the hotel. The hotel as free wi fi for guest of the hotel and the restaurants. Close to the airport. Recommended hotel, if you're in Legazpi City.
