I had already done my research on what to expect on this hotel. For my family of 4 booking in a 1 queen bed room, it was quite a tight sqeeze but I like the nearness of my kids with me. The room was quite clean, no complaints about the amenities. There are several reviews here about the room. We booked 3 rooms as our party was attending a wedding the following day. The buffet was adequate. You will not go hungry as long as you're not picky. I love the made to order soup in the morning! Drinks are plentiful but please be patient with the staff. After all, you're on Philippines time, which means everything moves a little slower.
I don't want to tell a very long story of what happened to us on this review, but 1 blunder after another (not always the hotel's fault but other guests who think they can demand and inconvenience other guests like me), the management finally decided that we were inconvenienced enough. The manager was kind enough to waive charges from billed to our room. Just for this, I am giving this hotel 5 stars.
What disappointed me a lot was the view of the Taal volcano. The view was so foggy and the wind does not smell like that fresh country smell anymore. The smog covered the coveted view that Taal Vista Hotel had always been famous for. You can...I had already done my research on what to expect on this hotel. What disappointed me a lot was the view of the Taal volcano. The view was so foggy and the wind does not smell like that fresh country smell anymore. The smog covered the coveted view that Taal Vista Hotel had always been famous for. You can see the outline of the volcano and where the lake is, but no clear views. Lots of automobiles, factories, etc contributing to the ever growing smog around Tagaytay, I don't know if this view will ever surface again.More
