Worst Resto to dine in

2.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed Apr 25, 2023
We had our massage and was about to dine in at the restaurant until we met one of the rude servers, looked us down and hesitated to gave us seat because of the registration which we already did. Hindi maganda ang approach nun nkaglasses na staff nila.

it was reviewed well on some sites and so we thought to give it a try. We drove all the way to Tagaytay from Okada Manila to experience first hand of what they said was a very relaxing massage at Nurture Wellness Spa.

Our reservation was at 5pm and so we arrived an hour earlier of our schedule. We were escorted to our Massage villa which was actually just a big room with three beds (3 of us -- all in one room). Three masseuse attended to each one of us and worked their way in massaging us.

It was pretty average type of massage -- I mean -- there were no relaxing diffusers or candles to set the mood. No bathrobes, just a thin towel or something to cover yourself up. The light in the room was kinda creepy and old. I honestly didnt get that wow relaxing feel. The room was old and I just dont get it. It was not what I expected it to be. Im actually very disappointed.

We have been here numerous times before for meals/massage & loved it. This time was the first time we booked in to stay & we're really looking forward to an amazing experience. Unfortunately we paid HUGE money for it & left feeling much worse than when we arrived. I'd say avoid staying at all costs. Come for a spa therapy but avoid the accommodation & restaurant unless you have no choice.

We arrived to a full house on Sunday afternoon where there was no parking (but as an overnight guest they took the keys & parked the car eventually for us). No welcome drink while we sat waiting for the paperwork to be done (would have been appreciated).

Also when you're trying to relax in your expensive room there are dining customers walking all over the 'resort' making lots of noise & taking selfies etc. The environment is so far from relaxing!

Since previous visits we're told the Farmers Table has been taken over by an external company (Raintree Hospitality). We were very unhappy with the dinner, even to the point I asked for a manager to advise but sadly there's basically just minimal response apart from we'll pass it on to the chef. Both our main courses were just not up to standard or price. We have previously eaten here & absolutely loved the food/experience. It now seems like one of the noisiest places you could go with food looking nice (ie for IG pics) but not tasting the way you'd hope for.

Then back to the room. We both had such a terrible sleep & woke up feeling very bad. The beds are like concrete & I wish I'd brought my own pillow. We paid around ₱8000 for this & sadly feel like we now have no reason to ever return to what was one of our favourite places previously.

Room tip: Try for a room past the area where visitors are allowed to roam freely if you must stay here.

Dear ddv73,

We would like to deeply apologise for your recent experience in Nurture. We are saddened to know that you did not have a good experience with us this time. We truly value your patronage and are grateful that you visited us many times before and enjoyed your experience.

Rest assured that we will forward your feedback to the Raintree management for their action.

We will check on the quality of the mattresses and pillows in your room, as it was actually our first time to receive negative feedback about this. May I share that some guests even request to buy our pillows as they find them very restful. Nevertheless, we will immediately check whether the mattress and pillows used in your room were up to standard and immediately take corrective action.

We hope you would visit us again. Rest assured of our commitment to give you only the very best Nurture experience.

Our second time at Nurture Wellness and the massage and spa service are still excellent! However, this time we were assigned a garden view room that was quite dilapidated, the bathroom fixtures were loose and very old, room amenities were lacking, and the room exterior looked unkempt. Since we had paid premium rates for peak season, we felt shortchanged given the condition of the room. The revamped restaurant, Farmer's Table (operated by a third party, Raintree) is ridiculously expensive, and the food is bland, tasteless and ordinary. The plated breakfast was so-so. During our stay, we had reserved a table for dinner thru the front desk but our request was ignored by the restaurant and they made us wait for a table instead. Turns out the resto was prioritizing walk-in diners instead of overnight spa guests. Same with the parking situation - it's now very difficult to park as the slots are always filled by the resto's diners. The lobby was always crowded with diners waiting in line and was quite chaotic especially during meal times, which takes away from the ambiance of the place. It was not so relaxing anymore. It would be great if overnight spa guests can be prioritized both in terms of meal reservations and parking - perhaps Nurture can consider allocating a separate parking area for restaurant guests. We really miss the old Nurture which was quite, pleasant and relaxing. The place is now being overwhelmed by Farmer's Table. Given the poor condition of the rooms, we recommend going there now only for the massage and spa services, but book a room somewhere else where you can get your money's worth.

Dear Tinkerbell,

Thank you for taking the time to give us feedback which we greatly appreciate. We are grateful for the good words you said about our spa and wellness services and for coming back to Nurture.

We apologize for the experience you had at Nurture and in Farmers Table . Rest assured that Nurture and Farmers Table are committed to providing you a superior guest experience at all times. We are currently improving the rooms and actually had made arrangements with Raintree to prioritize overnight guests for parking, dinner and breakfast. There may have been an oversight which we apologize for.

We hope that you could visit us again soon so that we can show you the improvements we have done and provide you with a much improved experience. May I have your phone or email so that I can chat with you personally to share what we are currently doing to improve our service.

Once again, thank you for visiting Nurture.

Wishing you a safe and happy new year!

Cathy

Massage was great. Worth it.
I just hope they upgrade the massage rooms. It’s a bit outdated. But other than that, it’s great.

The newly revamped resto serves delectable cuisine. Surely to satisfy both someone who’d like to eat healthy or something comforting.

P.S. Bring bug spray.

Dear Angelvaingel,
Thank you for coming to Nurture and for your kind review. We are delighted that you enjoyed the cuisine at Farmers Table. We are happy to let you know that we are in the process of slowly revamping the rest of the property including the massage rooms. Fogging is also being done to keep insects at bay, but since Nurture is such an open garden, pesky bugs continue to visit :(
Rest assured of our commitment to give you, our valued guests, only a good experience.
Wishing you all the best!
