Was looking around for a nice restaurant and came across Taste of Bagan. The restaurant is tucked away on a quiet and peaceful street, with locals going about their daily lives. There were two members of staff and they were both very kind and friendly. The menu is big and has lots choice, from local Myanmar curries and other Asian dishes, to European/American ones. I liked it so much I went there twice! I had the Myanmar fish curry and the Myanmar river prawn curry, both were fantastic. Also worth mentioning that the vegetable spring rolls were the best I’ve ever had... Dessert was also brilliant, plenty of choice, I went with the fried banana, again, it was excellent. If you’re in Bagan, it is definitely worth going!! Highly recommend!

Freshly cooked good food. Good service and a fair choice on the menu. The street is fairly quiet , but activity to watch.

Tried here based solely on the overwhelmingly positive reviews here and we were not disappointed. The food is superb. We had noodle soup with pork, crispy pork with sweet chilli sauce, Irrawaddy River Shrimp curry and chicken and potato curry. There was not a long wait for the food but it was fantastic and we enjoyed it tremendously. The owners donate 5% of their profits to a local orphanage so it is also good to eat here from an ethical point of view. Definitely eat here when in Bagan.

It’s a small restaurant, under a lush green tree, which gives it a nice atmosphere. The staff are really friendly and although it gets out of their hands, when they are full, they never loose their smile. What makes this restaurant special, is that they donate part of their profits to help children. The food is ok. We had vegetable tempura, tomato salad, fried kale, vegetable spring rolls, coconut rice, sauté mixed vegetables, all tasty. The fried pork was not worth trying. It took a little while for the food to come, cause they were full but, once the dishes started coming they had a good pace. Overall, ok to try, taking into account you will be collaborating with a good cause. Just be patient and keep an open mind, if they are full and take a little longer than desired.
