We did this trip early Sunday morning.
The weather was beautiful.
Due to the prolonged effect of COVID 19, myself and my teenage daughter were the only guests on board !!
With only to guests our host still held nothing back.
We got the FULL show. Very well informed young man, well educated on the rich history of Luderitz, and totally informed on ocean life !!
The tour was un rivalled by any guided tour we ever did.
We saw Various bird species, Penguins, Dolphins, seals, even a bird that only life over the ocean !!
I would strongly recommend any travel to get out of lockdown blues, and revive your soul on this fantastic trip.

It was misty and cold when we left. Fortunately we were supplied with ponchos at the boot otherwise it would have been very cold. We were still able to see hundreds of penguins through the mist. When we made a tour by car along the Luderitz Peninsula, I noted that island with the penguins is near the coast and it was possible to see penguins from the coast. With the tour you see the other side of the islands, the penguins are more close and there are more at the other side of the islands. If you are prone to sea sickness or short by cash, but you have you own wheels, you could consider viewing the penguins from the coast.
I made a similar tour in Walvis Bay. Than I saw thousands of seals and few penguins. In Luderlitz it was the other way around. Watch out for the steps to the toilets at the boat, these can be slippery.

Wonderfully trip today with German speaking skipper. Friendly and he provides endless information about wildlife of Namibia. A must to do. Highly recommended. Warm Dress required. They offer warm jackets on board.

We took a trip on the catamaran to see the Penguin colony. The journey from the port took about an hour and the sea can be rough on the journey, but overall it was well worth it. There is a colony of African penguins and also flamingoes and we were able to get really close up views and see the penguins actually swimming right up to the boat. The crew were knowledgeable and gave us much information about the penguin's habits. It was very different to the South African experiences where the penguins, although equally close, were on land and there was no-one to give us information. Trip very weather dependant though - we went on the morning trip, the afternoon one was cancelled due to rough seas.
