As soon as you arrive you feel like you are looking at the homes of the future. Or is it spaceships that have crash landed in the middle of this ancient place?? The buildings are beautiful and very unusual. Even if you don't go in, just a walk around is worth it. There is the aquarium at one end, then the science museum, the hemispheric (which shows 3D movies, and the arts building at the other end. Surrounded by water and parks, it really is very beautiful.
The aquarium is fun. It is not too big,has a dolphin show (but check the times before you go in so you don't miss it) and see everything else around that (sharks, seals, beluga whales, lots of fish and birds). It's €27 for a adult so if you intend to see the science museum and a 3D show, buy all the tickets together as it is a little bit of a saving. The entire aquarium takes about 3-4 hours at a leisurely pace. Also make sure you book which 3D show you want to see when you buy your ticket.
You can definitely do this in the morning and then the science museum in the afternoon. Big day but the kids will love every minute.
Oh and don't forget to play a trick on the kids out the front of the science museum (the hemispheric side). Get them to stand at one end of the big arch, right against the wall at the front corner, just in the grove, and then go to the other end and speak into the grove at your end. They will think you are standing next to them speaking. It's hilarious watching them work out how you make your voice travel. Have fun
