Great view of Lyme bay and the town. Impressive construction. Easy access and parking right next to it.

Visited the Cobb on a very cold windy day, take care on such days as the slope takes you towards the sea!
What a great piece of work by the Royal Engineers over 150 years ago and still strong. Views over the bay are fantastic and the fossils in the stonework are amazing.
No sign of the French naval officer?

A super place for photographic views of the foreshore in Lyme Regis. Loads of parking especially in the off season.

We first visited Lyme Regis in the 1980's with our son. He was fascinated with fossils and the surface of The Cobb is covered with them. Walking on The Cobb can be dangerous, especially in wet weather & the surface slopes towards the sea! Well worth having 'The French Lieutenant's Woman' experience.
