Not being familiar with AZ, we went to this park with no expectations. It was a great place! The trails that we took were scenic and pleasant. In the direction of the waterfall trail there were lots of interesting petroglyphs and rock formations. The trail started out paved but turned into dirt and pebbles. You do have to climb over a few boulders to get to the waterfall but it's nothing too strenuous. Unfortunately, the falls were dried up but there was still a pond of water that our dog loved and used to cool down in. There were lots of other trails in varying degrees of difficulty to take besides the one that we hiked. We did see the "tank" but it was all shot up with bullets that I guess someone thought was cool to do in a park. We were happy that the weather was on the cooler side because we never would have made it in hotter temperatures. There were lots of areas where you can have a picnic and there were also some portable toilets available. We and our dog had a great day hiking in the AZ sunshine.

It was a very slow ride getting into the park. Then once you passed the gate, the Festival iwas almost 4 more miles on the road. The parking lot appeared to be full because people were parking on the road. We were very optimistic and found a great spot right near the first booth. There were very many beautiful artisans at this fair. The jewelry was gorgeous but out of my price range. There were many great craf ideas. It had just the right amount of booths with a nice selection for food choices. The best part of the fair was free entry. It’s a nice thing to do on the weekend. There was live music provided free.

Watch the sun set over the mountains while enjoying a nice evening walk with Arizona history. Easy walk for everyone in the family, including the dogs!

There are all kinds of hiking trails, picnic tables. Also a full hook-up RV park that is very pleasant to stay in. The White Tanks Library is right at the entrance to the park which is a wealth of information.

Don't get me wrong, it's a very nice hike! But this last time I went I was a little disappointed. They have paved quite a bit of the trail now, which to me makes it seem more of a walk than a hike. Now it's great for strollers though!
We got to see a tarantula beside the trail this time, which was quite cool!
There was a "guide close to the top when we were there, who was very knowledgeable! He also took our family picture!
No waterfall though unfortunately-they were in a drought.
