Our stay at the El Portal was amazing from beginning to end! The hotel grounds are beautiful and the rooms are so cozy and romantic. The location is prime and service was stellar! We liked it some much we stayed an additional night! We will definitely visit again!More

Nicely maintained rooms, ours (6) was nice and private, nice setup with free non-alc drinks and snacks, very friendly and helpful proprietor. Walkable to lots of restaurants and coffee shops. Would absolutely come back and stay here again! Just a warning - not a ton of parking, so don’t bring multiple cars…

It was like stepping back 100 years in time- but with all the amenities of modern life tastefully integrated- the beams and timbers reminded us of the Ahwahnee hotel in Yosemite -but much warmer and intimate. From the soaking tubs to the generous treats in the beautiful lobby to the comfortable beds we found ourselves hard pressed to want to leave and visit the rest of Sedona. But when we did tear ourselves away it was literally a 1 minute walk to great restaurants and shops in quaintest Sedona. Will come back as often as we can!!

This is a small authentic southwestern Adobe hotel oozing charm and very rustic in a quiet green setting. There are only 12 rooms all individually decorated in different styles. Ours was the Hile with 20 high beamed ceilings and a massive stone fireplace. The furniture is pretty much all antiques with a 50’s vibe adding to the ambience and eclectic nature of the hotel. We had a private patio with a fire pit which was fenced and perfect for our dogs to roam around in. Great to enjoy in the evening with S’mores provided for you! The great room has an honor bar and snack area with free breakfast items, cookies, a variety of snacks and soft drinks available at all times.
The location is great providing a quiet green oasis in the heart of Sedona within easy walking distances of a multitude of restaurants, galleries and shops including the delightful Tiaquepaque Plaza just a 2 minute walk across the street. The service is superb and all the people are very friendly. We really love this hotel and will be back.

My husband and I stayed here for 3 nights during our trip through Nevada and Arizona. I booked this hotel because it screamed "Sedona" to me when I looked at it online. It was absolutely that and more. We enjoyed the peace and quiet, the wonderful courtyard full of birds, vines growing overhead to provide shade and the wonderful juniper firewood in the firepit.
Each morning, we got up and hung out with others in the great room while enjoying our coffee and breakfast snacks.
Our room was the Juniper room, and it was a very nice size and had great southwest furnishings.
We walked over to Tlaquepaque a couple of times and really enjoyed the shops there. They seem more real that what's in the new downtown area.
You also get spa and pool privileges at the hotel next door, and we enjoyed a nice afternoon there one day. They even have great food available by the pool for reasonable prices.

The El Portal Sedona Hotel is a relaxing getaway steps away from Tlaquepaque. Old world charm in combination with modern conveniences made our two night stay a delight. We savored morning coffee and evening cocktails in the lush courtyard while enjoying a crackling fire with a gentle fountain and birds chirping in the background. It was so peaceful that we're already planning our return visit to this lovely oasis
