We only spent three nights at the hotel. Overall the amenities of the hotel were good, the staff were extremely polite and helpful and it was only a 15 min walk into the centre of town.

We only had two issues. Firstly the room was extremely hot and heating cannot be controlled from within the room. Even at the end of March with windows open we found it to hot to sleep. Second, about 30 metres from our window was a house which owned a number of roosters. This meant that each morning at 4am we were awoken by the cacophany of roosters out doing wach other which continued for at least an hour.

The absolute highlight was a member of staff who did us a massive favour. After returning from a day trip late one day we found the local laundry closed and unable to collect our washing. Due to itineraries there was no time we had to collect it however upon explaining the situation to one of the staff (as they were heading home for the night), they offered to collect it the next day and drop it back to the hotel. This was despite the fact that it was their last day there and they were also leaving for Buenos Aires the next day. Maybe more of an indication of the person but this act of generosity eclipsed the minor issues we experienced.

Its a great place - just ask for a room away from the roosters.

What is not to like? The location. It takes 20 minutes to walk to the area with restaurants and there is none at this place. Paper thin walls, but otherwise very quiet. No fridge.

What's to like? Decent rooms. Good breakfast, very quiet. Helpful front desk. Great tub. Ok internet but not streaming quality. Ok beds. This was part of a tour, but a good choice at the right price.

Ok Hotel, clean and good breakfast (you get eggs and not just cakes). But walls are very thin, doors bang at all hours and our room was very hot with no way to switch off the heating (we asked). We slept with window open which because of wind and noise is not a good option but was necessary. We stayed here three nights at first and came back after a week for one night where they told us upon arrival that they had no room available (although we booked through weeks ago). We were with an agency so the hotel could easily have gotten the message to us well in advance but they did not inform us until we arrived at their doorstep late evening. We were moved to another hotel which was a better category but with an even hotter room where we almost did not get any sleep at all (the heating could not be switched off which seems to be a problem in Calafate hotels, strange...)

Initially we had trouble locating this hotel but eventually found it on the outskirts of town. The walk back into town took about 15 mins, and we felt safe at all hours. However, a warning to be careful with take away food: the street dogs will follow the smells and can and will get aggressive as they compete for the food. Best not to carry any.

The rooms are small but clean, with fresh towels and hot water. Some of the staff spoke good English and all were very friendly and helpful with tour and transport suggestions. The buffet breakfast was awesome, with a great selection of hot and cold foods. Gluten-free options were available on request.

Good value for money.

Room Tip: Ours room overlooked the main entrance but was surprisingly quiet.

Older style large hotel situated at end of a gravel road on the outskirts of town and amidst industrial sites.
Apart from the location breakfasts were great and included in the tariff.
Rooms clean, beds made daily, plenty of hot water in excellent volume and clean towels.
