We came at the very end of June having read in advance that the ski resort would be open by then. However, when we arrived in Bariloche, we learned that the ski slopes don't tend to fully open until mid July. Only the most beginner slopes were open by the end of our Bariloche trip. We met other travellers who felt they too had been misled both by the official website and other websites.

Friends brought us up here to see the view. You'll need to order ahead for tickets as it is quite popular to visit at any time of year when the weather is nice. As with most things in Argentina, ticket prices are no bargain. The tram is small, about 25 people, so you may have to wait a couple of cycles to get on. The top building has a restaurant and bathrooms, it's a little care worn but serves it's intended purpose. To get to the very top Hutte, it's another 1/2 to 1 hr hike to the top once you exit the tram, you'll see a little more, but if time is short , where you get out of the tram has plenty of viewing areas.

This is supposed to be the best ski site in South America i was told. Although there is no snow in summer, it is a great place for hiking too. We took the cable car and then chairlift up and hiked further up. Depending on one's fitness level, you can choose different route and duration. A views up there was beautiful too.

Pistes were in great condition for the last week of the season. Icy and hard early in the morning. Only about 6 lifts open but enough to keep 2 advanced skiiers happy for a day. Panoramico piste offers amazing views, so that's not really about the skiing but is a must do. Lifts quick and efficient, staff helpful & happy to see you.

If you like to ski or have snow fun, Catedral is the place. For a South American snow resort it is very well equipped, with all levels slopes, School for Kids and Adults.
Good structure for both Skiing and Snowboard.
