Las Bayas is right in the center of town but is still quiet at night which is important to me. It also had a HUGE comfy bed with excellent bedding and good pillows! The shower had great pressure and plentiful hot water - quietness, bed and shower are the 3 most important attributes of a good hotel as far as I am concerned. The breakfast was excellent and the in-house restaurant was superb with a very imaginative menu. The dining room is combined with the main lobby area and was very cosy. Plus there is a lovely porch just outside where you can have an excellent (both in terms of quality and price) glass of wine while enjoying the cool night air on a very comfortable couch. The hotel is walking distance from many amenities including the Train station for those who want to experience the Old Patagonian Express (which we did and loved it). Best of all was the staff: Kata in particular was incredibly helpful when we had a snafu with the delivery of our Hertz (ugh) rental car. She speaks great English and all the staff speak enough to be effectively helpful. They were all wonderfully welcoming and contributed to a lovely stay in a very reasonably priced boutique hotel that I would heartily recommend to travelers who want low key and comfortable accommodations.
