Hidden gem in a private courtyard setting. Food is very tasty and interesting. Pair with good company and wine and you can't go wrong!

Pitstop for a night in Stellenbosch, where every restaurant seemed to be booked out (on a Monday, to boot). Somewhat reluctantly accepted a 6 pm (!) supper booking, or face a bowl of nuts from the minibar back at the guesthouse. This little gem is tucked away off the street in a lovely little courtyard.

The tapas-style menu sounds adventurous, and so it turned out to be - in a good way.

Crispy squid with a romesco sauce and crunchy salad was just perfect, as was the delicious Camembert with homemade preserves (fig?).

The star of the show for me was the sensational sweet and spicy smoked lamb ribs - deeply smoky, and robustly spicy. (Lamb ribs - hardly ever seen on a menu - why?) I would go back again and have them again, twice over.

Absolutely charming waiting staff and lovely courtyard setting. Evidently a few issues with their reservation system, but I’m sure that can be sorted out, and don’t affect us.

Don’t hesitate, go!

We have been going to Spek & Bone virtually every month for the past year and am always over the moon. Awesome menu options, with gnocchi still a winner. The wine list continues to rock

Had business in the area and my colleague decided to introduce me to Spek & Bone. From our arrival the look and feel of the restaurant is just so beautiful. Hidden down a ling passage you come into a hidden garden where the smell of the continuous burning smoker ensure that the food is fresh and the chef serious about it.
The service was attentive but not overwhelming we started with some smoked olives, tempura khale, a fresh camembert covered in nuts and figs. Also came some great pig skin and home smoked bacon.
For main course we enjoyed the Peppered squid and the Lamb ribs. What a treat
