Thanks Robert for a fabulous tour!
Absolute 5!
We will definitely recommend your tour. It was fascinating and colourful and interesting. Your local knowledge of the area was invaluable.
One small Improvement... softer saddles maybe...
The ice cream was delicious as were the tapas at the end of the tour and the pint of Foresters!
We certainly saw much more than we could have on our own and we thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Thank you for also taking so many photos to remind us of our visit to this beautiful area.

Dear SuperSeagull,
thank you for this enthusiastic review and we're glad you discovered a lot of sights and treats with Robert! Thank you also for the suggestion to add padding to the saddles and we'll act on it! We hope to see you again. Your Bike&Saddle Team

We did the bicycle tour of Franschhoek. Eric and Carla from Bike and Saddle picked us up from the hotel. They asked us about our interests, fitness and any special requests. We opted to just do Franschhoek rather than combine with Stellenbosch.

The bikes are good mountain bikes with hydraulic brakes and suspension. You can put your gear in the support van which follows you. This is particularly useful for carrying wine purchased at each vineyard.

We visited four vineyards (including lunch). Bike and Saddle crew knew the staff and wines. Obviously they did not try the wine! At each vineyard you do a tasting. The main course and wine was included at lunch at La Petite Dauphine (Bonbon Cafe).

The is a perfect way to tour Franschhoek vineyards.

Dear SlowScottishPaddler,
thank you for sharing your experience of the Bike&Saddle tour in Franschhoek with fellow travelers! This beautiful little town in the Winelands has a stunning choice of vineyards and we've carefully selected a few estates for our tours. Our guides are very knowledgeable of the area and its treasures and they really enjoy sharing them with the guests. Our tours are always small and we can customize them to ensure guests have a memorable experience. Your Bike&Saddle Team.

We had signed up for a bike trip in February back in December and were so looking forward to it. Unfortunately I hurt my shoulder so was unable to ride a bike. We thought that would be that, that we would lose the money etc, but not at all, they were so helpful and said that we could take a car tour instead. So we met Robert and he took us round loads of places that we wouldn't have been to see had we not done the tour. He was fabulous, very informative about the area and took us to such great spots that the photographs we have taken look spectacular. We then went for lunch at a lovely spot. All in all I am not sure whether having a bad shoulder was a bad thing in the end because they accommodated us so much and we had such a lovely morning, we also got to spots that we wouldn't have gone to had we been on the bikes! I cannot thank Robert enough for being so kind and helpful and next time we would definitely do the bikes! Would 100% recommend.

Dear Treacle44,
I'm happy to hear that Robert managed to turn an unfortunate event into a great day! The advantage of our small groups is that we can adjust and sometimes completely customize a tour. We hope you'll be back for another holiday and can then cycle with us. Your Bike & Saddle Team

Signed up for the 3-hour bike tour with my husband and his parents. Robert was great; very knowledgeable about Knysna, easy to talk to, and very helpful. My mother-in-law has knee issues and he was very patient and diligent in helping her navigate the hills. It was very, very hot the day we did the tour, so would recommend the morning session if during the summer. Overall a fun and active way to see a beautiful seaside town!

Dear Jessica,
thank you for the wonderful feedback and for taking the time to share your impressions with fellow travelers! Bike & Saddle tours are always led by knowledgeable guides and the group sizes are small. This means that our guides can pay full attention to the guests and make sure they have the best possible experience. Our summer days are hot and your advice about cycling in the mornings is spot on! Your Bike & Saddle Team.
