Top rated hotel in the middle of awesome Sea Point. Close to everything, beautiful, fast wifi, great bed and linens, excellent professional well trained staff, excellent management. My rental car stayed in the garage all week because everything was so close. What else can you ask for to have a perfect stay.

Thank you Protea Sea Point!!!

Excellent staff and included breakfasts.
Second morning NO EGGS. European sized Room was pristine and had refrigerator. 2 free bottles of water daily.
Sanitized daily. Nice thin balcony with Sea Point View. Great location. Spurs restaurant basically attached through a dining patio. Excellent food choices. Staff very attentive. Zonke concierge excellent. Would stay again in a heartbeat.

We stayed at the Protea for 4 nights while on our family vacation in Cape Town. The location is PERFECT and the only place I would stay while in the city. It's located by the Sea Point promenade and you can hear the ocean from the balcony. Service and staff at the hotel are outstanding. I must mention our server for breakfast, Maureen. She greeted us daily with a smile and always asked how we were enjoying the city. She was overly attentive and made our trip memorable. I will always have fond memories of Cape Town because of Maureen! One negative of the hotel is the noise level. You can hear everything from the street below as there is no soundproofing or insulation for the building. There were also lots of homeless people sleeping on the sidewalk across from the hotel. But, sadly, this is very common in Cape Town. The hotel did an amazing job of keeping the homeless away from the steps of the hotel. Wonderful and comfortable beds which were most needed after long days of sightseeing. I would definitely stay here again.

Room tip: Try one facing the alley and not the street to reduce noise. Ask for Maureen in the dining area!

Shocking noise, unruly guests and a midnight fire alarm! This was my standard hotel for business trips to Cape Town. Never again. Out of control guests shouting in corridors, slamming doors and the hotel fire alarm going off at midnight! Pity that this once great hotel has given business guests the middle finger.

the hotel is situated in a great area. easy access to the beach. rooms are very clean and the bathroom is better than a 3 star hotel. breakfast was great with all the regular items available. staff are extremely friendly and very helpful. definitely value for money and in my opinion the best 3 star hotel i have stayed in.

Room tip: request a room with a balcony with sea views
