I must confess that the restaurant has improved significantly.
My family were treated to prompt service.
Our table was reserved.
The food was excellent
The prawns were extra large in the sumptuous sea food dish
Special meals were prepared by the caring Chefs. Lucky came to the table and explained what he could prepare and he prepared a sumptuous dish
The food and service was excellent
I would now recommend this restaurant
Compliments to the Chef and the staff

Thando the chef is passionate about her job and talks to both guests and her colleagues in a tone that is both respectful and humble. There is joy in her attitude. The rooms are comfortable and both breakfast and dinner are a fully fledged buffet with all the offerings. Although built in 1911 it is well kept. It is the little things like Lindt that is appreciated after a long day.

The Friday buffet was awful. The lamb was full of bones and not a genuine curry. The rice was raw and crunchy. I booked an exec balcony room but my room had no balcony. After complaining I got one for the next night. Reception staff seem very confused . Dessert was good though. Won’t stay there again

Hotel was lovely and staff excellent at reception and concierge. Some of the restaurant staff could do with being a little friendlier.

We were upgraded due to our Marriott membership, so had good value for money. The booking came with a bottle of sparkling wine, but because of the upgrade this wasn’t there on our first night & we had to remind them. Also had to constantly ask for coffee pods to be replaced. If you don’t want to offer this service, remove the Nespresso machines from your rooms!

The WiFi let the hotel down. It was so poor I lost almost 4 KB of data. Trying to log on to it was a battle that we gave up on in the end.

Overall lovely but costly week.
