I usually avoid botanical gardens because they are not really much to see. Kirstenbosch is different, it is definitely worth a visit. We also joined the free guided tour which was good except for the time management.

If you want somewhere close to the city to relax, have a picnic or just take a walk in the safe nature in Cape Town, then this is the place to be. It is wonderfully maintained and a place where anybody normal would want to visit often :-) I even recommend it even for an outdoor date for those just starting to know each other or have been together for ages :-)

We spent a lovely afternoon simply strolling through the gardens (after a lunch in their tearoom). Very pleasant to just walk and look. Some beautiful views of the area. On our way out, as some rain began to fall, we stopped in the tea room again for tea and hot chocolate. Nice way to end a day. If you enjoy gardens, this one will not disappoint.

We always have such a wonderful visit to the botanical gardens. I have visited many botanical gardens in my travels overseas but ours remain the very best. The setting and well groomed gardens are just mind blowing and special.

One of the best botanical gardens in the world is how it was advertised, it certainly did not disappoint. Nestled on the slopes of the mountain...... On a sunny day such a lovely place to visit, a must on any trip to Cape Town
